SFN: What gave you the idea to add writing books to your busy life and career?

CA: I've always wanted to write -- I actually became a nurse so I could have a part-time job in the Bay Area that paid enough for me to be able to have time to write. I've always been very intentional in my choices towards that end.

SFN: Do you consider writing to be a cathartic process?

CA: Yes. I get to make myself cry writing my books (almost always) and then readers tell me my books made them cry (almost always), so very, very yes.

SFN: How long do you spend writing? How do you keep yourself present/fresh/awake...?

CA: As long as I need to. I kind of write in bursts, because I've done this for so long I know how a book idea feels and how long it's going to take. I like to have several days off in a row to write, if possible, so I can get really immersed, and then that's all I do for that week.

SFN: What made you want to publish your books in audio?

CA: I sold the audio rights to my Dark Ink Tattoo series to Scribd, and Matthew Holland reached out after narrating some of them -- and I figured once I knew his email I should hit him up for more narration and the rest is history!

SFN: How did you choose the other narrators you've worked with?

CA: Matthew helped me find Bunny -- and then I lucked into having a friend know Avery Caris (who has also read for me before, on Scribd) and she knew Jonathon Lake. And now I'm pretty much set and ready to take on the world via audio, one book at a time ;).
