A Sangha for Peace & Inclusivity: Intersectionality in Gender Work in Japan |
|
"I came to understand that as an ordinary monk, I still have more privilege than many people. It made me reflect on what I could do for people who have been marginalized. Buddhism should be centered around the people, with less emphasis on words and more on actions. Monks are human like everyone else, and instead of waiting for people to come and pay respects to us at the temple, we should go out to those who suffer, including minorities, and support them.” – Ven. Itthiyawat, Sangha for Peace, Dharma Heirs Project |

The third-century Avatamsaka Sutra unfurls a bedazzling, poetic vision of Shakyamuni Buddha’s perceptions on awakening to true awareness beneath the Bodhi tree. We are very excited to do our very best to pass on some of Pracha’s wisdom, love, and practical skills to the people who can continue to take forward these valuable teachings in the world–but we need your help raising funds to support our scholarship students. |
|
And here is my token for you by write me I want to, from now on, do things out of love and for the sake of love. And so, when I face a blank page, I will not force words out until my nose bleeds, or until my blood runs dry. I will go for a walk, and hopefully, during the walk, I will finally find you. |

Chaiwat Satha-Anand, aged 69, succumbed to cancer on June the 27 th 2024. He was a wonderful human being, gentle caring and compassionate. He was a Thai Moslem which was unusual in strongly Buddhist Thailand. There is no doubt that this religious identity gave him a lifelong interest in how to negotiate all kinds of differences nonviolently. |
