Dear First name / friend,

 

 

My new year's resolution this year was simply to pay attention to my money and develop a relationship with it.

 

 

And voila!  Eight months in I am more than halfway to all of those things…by simply reframing my thoughts around money.

 

Money is such a loaded topic for so many of us; especially women.  As younger women we were told not to talk about money, then some of us ran in to situations where because it felt like a dirty little secret, it was cloaked in shame.  And others of us in midlife got slapped with no other choice than to finally pay attention to it.

I don't want either of those things for any of us.  I want it to be OUR choice to take control of our money.  

 

Money is energy AND in its simplest from, it's also just numbers.

 

I found out we can have a relationship with it, a kind, gentle, respectful relationship.

To be very honest, I really never thought this was possible for me.  I thought I would always have to depend on someone else for financial security.  That story was simply not true, like many of the money stories we tell ourselves.  I pulled up my big girl panties and started digging.  Was it scary?  Yes.  Was it uncomfortable?  Yes.  Was I ashamed at the position (I thought I was responsible) we were in?  Yes.  

Was taking control of the situation the best thing I've possibly ever done in my life?  F*ck yes.

 

I tell you all of this because you'll start to hear more and more about money from me.  

And since Mondays are my money days (where I check all of my accounts, manually put transactions in to my {very intense} spreadsheet), and not just because it has a good ring to it, it totally does, but because it's one more reason I ❤️ Mondays.  I get to be reminded of how much work I've done to get to a place where I love to look at my/our money.

I really never, ever thought I'd be here.
