Dear First name / friend,
This photo was taken the day after we moved. We dressed up to attend the
Culture & Cocktails event at the San Diego Museum of Art with some friends.
If you've never been to that event, add it to your list! It's such a fun night out.
Sadly, when we arrived in UTC to pick up our friends, we realized that I (Karen) had left my wallet at home. (This venue is very strict about IDs. We have been before when a friend did something similar and forgot her ID. They wouldn't let her in and she had to wait outside of the venue all evening while we all had fun inside.)
We knew we didn't have time to drive all the way home and back in time to enjoy the event. Since we were all dressed up with no where to go, we called another friend to meet us at The Wine Bar in UTC where we ate asparagus fries and waited for the traffic to clear for the ride home.
Moves are like that. You drop the ball on things, forget what day it is, and are more tired than you realize. It's as if your auto-pilot system gets turned off.
I will say though - WOW! We are SO happy to be here and settling in. It feels SO GOOD!
In just one short week, we have watched the sunrise and sunset from our back patio multiple times. We made some new friends while soaking in the jacuzzi. We've enjoyed numerous walks around the 2-mile loop both morning and night. We've taken Daisy (our tandem e-bike) out for some rides around the neighborhood.
It has been nothing short of amazing. We love it ALL! And, we can't wait to share it with you!
For those of you who are new - our INSIDER newsletter normally comes out on the first Sunday of every month. This is our 4th issue! And, like I said, we kept forgetting what day it was so we are a couple days late with this one, but - we will be back on schedule next month. And, this newsletter will become more and more robust as time goes on so we can introduce you to the people and the places we discover as we go along and help you get a better sense of what it's really like inside the gates of this amazing community.
