Coming to you a day later than usual this week, but hey, it's summer, right?

 

It was a great weekend of beach days with friends and incredible weather.

 

Yesterday we went to our local, historic theater, The Jane Pickens Theater for a showing of "Water Brother: The Sid Abbruzzi Story". It's a feature documentary chronicling the life of Sid Abbruzzi, a revered Newport figure and cultural icon in the surfing and skateboarding world. It is fascinating story and a great production with incredible clips of Newport from the 70's until present day. It was a great way to see more about Newport's history —  different from the mansions, wealth, Tennis Hall of Fame, etc.

 

Best of all I got to say hello to Sid and shake his hand…he's an incredible man with a huge heart. 

 

If by chance you're visiting Newport this week, they've added additional showings as it keeps selling out.

How's Your #justgetdressed Habit Going This Summer?

Happily, we're in midst of summer, and my favorite time of year. It can be very easy to skip my #justgetdressed habit these days, but thanks to Summer Style System (currently closed) it's easy for me to put something on each day and makes me feel good, without getting fussy or over-doing it.  And when I do need to kick it up a notch, the outfit prompts make it so easy to get dressed and get out the door.  Scroll down to see some of my everyday outfits from last week.

Many of my go-to summer pieces are from Amazon, including much of what you see below. As I discussed in Tipsy Tuesday above, Sumer is a season when I like to go with affordable options – it just makes sense for my casual lifestyle, the weather, and the wear and tear summer clothes can take. I'm seeing this dress and similar all over town for walking, exercising, casual wear.

These pieces are great now, and will transition well into fall as well.
