Hi First name / friend,
If you are reading this during the first week of August, I have officially been living in Montreal, Quebec for 4 weeks now. Yep, it's true. This lifelong New Yorker has relocated to our neighbor to the north.
In case you missed it, my husband started a job up here at the beginning of 2024 so we moved in July. So far, so good but I feel like I am on this extended vacation. Every day I am discovering new things as I navigate my new life in Montreal. I am still working for my Brooklyn-based job, so I haven't lost that NYC connection. But my day-to-day is spent exploring, helping my son adjust to day camp, and basically learning all I can about Montreal. And I have SOOO much to learn. From banking to the healthcare system, to my smartphone, to learning FRENCH!!! and on and on. I have a long way to go.
I am constantly looking for new gluten-free places to eat and so many of you have been beyond helpful with sending me your top GF eats in MTL. Keep them coming! I think my favorite (gluten-free) thing about this city so far is that I can find GLUTEN-FREE CROISSANTS at MULTIPLE bakeries. Yep, it's true. And they aren't even expensive compared to NYC prices! It's a real treat.
Follow along on my
Gluten-Free Globetrotter Instagram account for all things Montreal, gluten-free travel related, and of course New York City content. You can take the girl out of New York, but this foodie will always ben in touch with her gluten-free roots of NYC.
Safe gluten-free travels!
Erin
