Many golden moments hereinā¦ |
This summer has been golden with so much to be grateful for! |
Iām delighted to share photos from this Diamond Dream installation completed last week for the JRM headquarters in New York City! |
It's crazy to have a permanent installation in the The Big Apple! |
It was a fairly straightforward installation process using a paper template and screws. The process was extremely quick! |
The diamonds were created from reflective gold acrylic by Obsidian Solution in Dallas, Texas (I introduced Scott - my fabrication partner - in my last newsletter). Many thanks are owed to Stefanie, the project architect at Gensler NYC, Deborah, our client at JRM, and ArtLifting, for facilitating this wonderful opportunity! |
I absolutely LOVE the way this installation turned out. What do you think?! š |
Iāve been so busy with the business side of Folded Poetry lately that my creative exploration has taken a hit. I busted out of this rut by creating this piece of folded paper art called āRegalā. |
I completed the sketch for Regal several months ago and finally sat down to create it on my birthday (July 21st) as a gift of creativity to myself. Overall iām very happy with the way it turned out! |
Iāve been feeling particularly Golden lately because I recently achieved official architecture licensure!! |
At the time of my car crash and subsequent traumatic brain injury in 2018, I had already logged and completed more than the required 3700 experience hours for my licensure, however, in the hustle and bustle of firm life, I miscategorized some of those hours into the wrong āexperience typeā. |
Post car-crash I assumed I could complete the required hours in the specific lacking category upon my return to work at an architecture firm, however, itās become increasingly clear over the years that my priorities lie in continuing to grow my business. To my surprise, the governing agency of architecture licensure was willing to accommodate by allowing me to recategorize my completed hours. |
While Folded Poetry does not require an architecture license (yet?), Iām eager to officially associate myself with my earned credential of Registered Architect. |
My journey to become an architect began well over a decade ago and Iām incredibly proud of this accomplishment! |
I'm incredibly excited for the release of my very first acoustic product line through Unika Vaev is this fall! Iām currently planning a series of early installations of the sculptural acoustic product. Below are some images of designs planned for September installation. Canāt wait to share more with you about this development! |
I recently completed two documents showcasing my sculptural offerings including some rough pricing for reference by art commissioning agencies and interior designers. If youād like to learn more about these documents, please reach out to me! Additionally, if you know of anyone who might be interested in working with me, Iād be super grateful for the connection. |
On a personal note, i've been enjoying a golden summer. Below are some photo highlights of my birthday season. |
This Saturday Mikie and I are off to Italy for a proper vacation to celebrate all the blessings included in this newsletter, as well as the happiness established by our life with each other and our small fur family! |
Did you enjoy this newsletter? I have never āgone viralā and all of my growth is organic - It would mean the world to me if you would share this with an art-loving friend. |
