You might've noticed I didn't hit your inbox last week (or for the last 7 weeks, as a matter of fact). I've been in the weeds of my rebranding journey â so life lately has looked like an overwhelm carousel of all the things that need changing đ
And even though Iâm a big believer in CONSISTENCY & IMPLEMENTATION, I have a confession to make:
I HATE writing these newsletters đ
(which might be an odd thing for me to say & for you to know)
Even with Content Days scheduled in my calendar every single Thursday, I find planning & creating content for Instagram (or my upcoming podcast â more on that soon đ) SOOO much easier & more fun!
Thereâs just something about the idea of sitting down to *write* that makes me go âURGHHHâ:
- Writing copy takes way too much time & drives my perfectionism up like nothing else;
- I have more fun creating the email design than the actual content;
- Iâm a visual person more than a words one (I donât even read that much tbh) so itâs a muscle I donât flex often.
Every email that lands in your inbox has sat in my content planner for days, moving from one deadline to the next as I procrastinate with *every other possible task*.
AND AT THE SAME TIME đđ»
- Email has been my best tool to refine my POV â because of how uncomfortable it is;
- Theyâve deepened my community, leading to bookings from lurkers in my audience;
- They bring me the most meaningful feedback, which hits different from surface-level likes.
But this actually isnât about emails.
(mostly because how I feel about emails, you might feel about graphics)
You shouldnât feel anxious about something you *need* to do.
The more confident you feel, the more youâll do it, right?
Think of a circus performer: they donât start on the tightrope 50 feet in the air on day one. No, they begin small â practicing low to the ground, perfecting their balance, and slowly raising the stakes as they gain confidence. If they rushed, theyâd fall. But taking it step-by-step? Thatâs how you learn to enjoy the spotlight đȘ
Starting small â whether thatâs writing x1 email (like Iâm doing now) or refining your brand one visual at a time â allows you to feel confident while getting comfortable under the spotlight â thatâs what itâs actually about.
And while I could sit here and write about my step-by-step process for creating bolder brands, it wouldnât really do much for you âcause yours wonât look the same.
But I can help you understand how it CAN look for you âš
