Hey First name / friend!
So yes, I do show up on the ADHD scale.
I know you just spit your morning coffee out with that revelation!
Every morning my inbox is full of so many incredible destinations…. hotels, resorts, villas, adventures. It is a miracle I get any work done.
It is like someone shouting “ squirrel” at me constantly.
At GTN we have a broad range of partners, and then there is the Virtuoso consortia. They all like to torture me with gorgeous ideas Every.Single.Day.
It is tempting to return to the same destination that you loved over and over again. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
But I have a rule that for every repeat I need to do three new trips first. Sam hates my rule, he always wants to go to Italy.
On Thanksgiving Day I am leaving for South Africa, and then on to Botswana for a rugged 2 weeks flying in and out of safari camps and lodges. I am super excited…Sam's super excited he does not have to go with me.
Solo “ familiarization” trips make for genuine travel experiences. My invested wanderlust allows me to understand the nuances that turn a good trip into an great adventure. So off I go to Botswana to kiss some frogs in search of destination princes. ( I am joking about the frogs, this partner has an incredible portfolio so all will be princes, just different experiences).
This week I am at the GTN conference, meeting with 70 of our amazing supplier partners who flew in from all over the world. It is just dazzling. I go from meeting to meeting: Antarctica, Villas all over the world, elegant country house hotels in the UK, hiking in Nepal, Morocco….
Here are some trips I am working on…lots more on Japan next week.
