Happy almost weekend! We are THRILLED to learn we have a little grandson on the way!! Our son Michael and his wife Ashley did a gender reveal for our families and we found out they are having a BOY!! 🩵 We are overjoyed for them!!

We had a wonderful visit to Minnesota as my brother got married to his sweetheart! It was so special to get to celebrate their love, get to see family and enjoy the beautiful fall leaves and cooler temperatures! 

 

 

 

Some friends invited us to attend an incredibly special event a few months ago called the Horatio Alger Awards. While we were there, we had a 2 hour window available so we Ubered over and on a whim I walked in and talked with their retail buyer in the Museum Shop.

 

It was totally unexpected that I would tell them about my book, but I am so glad they said YES!!! What an honor to have my book available at the Museum of the Bible!

The last week of September I had the privilege to attend and briefly speak at a beautiful women’s luncheon for the National Christian Foundation (NCF). We were able to invite friends and what a treat to get to spend time with some of our oldest daughter, Betsy’s closest friends.

 

It was fun to share a little of our journey of generosity and how much joy it has brought Scott and I over the years! Someone sponsored us for our first Generous Giving event several years ago (we still don’t exactly know who!) and we are forever grateful as it also introduced us to NCF.

 

Dear friends, Sandy and her husband Blake wanted to generously purchase and give my book to each of the women who attended the luncheon and it warms my heart to think of the ladies who will get to learn more of my heart behind hospitality & kindness through my book! 

 

It was my largest order to date and I am so humbled thinking of wonderful women who will be able to learn about my enthusiasm and passion for sharing hospitality with others. It's been fun to hear back from several of the women who received a copy of the book!

Earlier this week, a very sweet sister-influencer team Beth and Danielle of @PalmBeachLately were so incredibly kind to share my book on their Instagram stories! They have over 128,000 followers, so this was a BIG DEAL!! 🎉 We have sent my book to a handful of influencers hoping they'll share it on Instagram. Beth and Danielle were the first ones - I'm so honored!!

 

I was recently re-reading a favorite book, The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. If you haven't read it before, I recommend it! One of my favorite chapters (to no surprise!) is the chapter on the importance of a handwritten letter. 

 

I would encourage you to write one letter this week. Did someone come to mind right away? Send them a note to tell them you are thinking of them, praying for them, send them a word of encouragement or a heartfelt thank you. If you do, would you hit ‘reply’ on this email and tell me about it?! I'd LOVE to hear from you!
