The first photo in the upper left corner was me last Tuesday morning while I waited to get in to the doctor. Remember all of that wooded area we cleaned out? Apparently the vines, ahem, ivy, I pulled off the trees with my bare hands were poisonous and this old gal's bod did not love it. I had a wicked reaction, which I've never had allergies or a reaction to anything so imagine my surprise when I woke up on Tuesday looking like this.
It's been a helluva week. I 10 out of 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I got a shot of steroid on Tuesday, started a series of oral steroid on Wednesday and aside from an inappropriate amount of time on my computer, wanting to scratch my face off and horrible insomnia, I think I'm finally on the mend. You have no idea how happy I am that it's Monday tomorrow. I'm ready to get back to my routine…with a smaller face.
As I was talking my friend Janna this week, (thank you to EVERYONE that reached out) I told her I just feel like I've had the most dramatic year. And yet, I feel like it's been a pretty awesome one. This must be what happens when you just find ways to cope with stress rather than medicate it. 😉
This Friday I celebrate 3 years of an alcohol-free life. As I get further and further away from Day 1, I think about it's absence less and less. However, in my case, it was that one decision that made all these beautiful experiences possible so I celebrate these milestone.
I see so many amazing things on the horizon for not only myself and my family, but for the wonderful humans I've had the honor to surround myself with recently. If you're reading this, you're one of them and you'll never know the depth of my appreciation for you.
