Good Morning!

Can you believe it's September?! Wow!

We have had a fabulous month in OHCC & can't wait to share some of our adventures.

But first, a great story…

Dear First name / friend

I think we have mentioned already how much we love the friendliness here in OHCC. Honestly, it is unmatched. Everywhere you go - whether on foot or on wheels - a warm hello or a friendly wave are always there to greet you. We get such a kick out of it. It feels pretty darn good!

The other day when we headed out for our morning run, we decided to count how many times people exchanged “Good Morning” or a friendly hello with us as we passed by…ANY GUESSES?

We ran the 2.2-mile loop a few times. After the first lap, our total was already 38! By the time we finished our second lap, it was 76! And then, TK went for third lap and added 31 more to our count!

That's 107 Good Morning greetings in about an hour! And, it was a pretty quiet morning out there! Crazy, right? And…awesome!

We are always talking about creating our own Blue Zone lifestyle. Well, I can honestly say - this whole “Good Morning” thing is addicting! I can already feel the positive impacts it is having on my health and wellbeing. I can't wait to get out in the morning to run or to walk to the gym - just so I can get my daily dose!

There are all kinds of studies out there about the positive impact of saying “Good Morning” and those small exchanges you have throughout your day - especially with strangers. Turns out those two little words can deliver a sense of belonging, connection and community - which are powerful healing agents - both physically and mentally.

In a world where loneliness and isolation are on the rise, it feels pretty nice to be part of a community that is committed to making people feel welcome and seen.

PRO TIP: In OHCC, you can get a lot of peace & quiet, but you can also get your fix of friendliness & connection as often as you like. Don't be afraid to strike up conversations with people while out and about. You will quickly find yourself invited to the next event or sharing a nice meal together.
