and an extra $5K SALES in 4 weeks

I’d loved to share the story of how my idea transformed into a major win for one of my long-time clients, GH Produce.
 
Back story: Glen, the founder of GH Produce, is actually my first-ever client when I left my role at Lavan, a law firm in 2019 to start my own business. We’ve had some incredible results together over the years, and I’ve been fortunate enough to become his trusted advisor as he’s grown and developed his brand. In fact, during our first year of working together, we tripled his revenue!
 
Now, let me tell you about the Moon Surf Bars - an idea that turned in a new product that generated $5K in revenue (RRP $5.95) and completely sold out in 4 weeks!
 
It started while I was visiting my brother’s place down south. My brother is a passionate surfer, and one of his mates, Boogsy, was there, talking about how he was losing too much weight during long surf sessions. 
 
They mentioned that when they surf in remote locations, there’s no access to food to keep them fuelled up (nor do they want to paddle in when waves are pumping).
 
When I heard that, my mind started racing. Knowing my client Glen is also a keen surfer, I immediately thought, “I wonder if he can create a protein bar specifically for surfers?” 
 
I floated the idea to Glen, he loved it and started recipe development straight away. I also had the idea of waterproof packaging - something that would be practical for surfers out on the water. I shared this idea with Glen too, he did some research, and sure enough, it was possible.
 
Within six weeks, we had perfected the recipe, designed the packaging, and written the product descriptions. When we launched the Moon Surf Bars, they were an instant hit. We sold out all 1,000 bars in the first month and the demand hasn’t slowed down since.
 
And here’s the best part - we haven’t even started marketing them yet!
As Brand Strategist, I don’t just have ideas - I transform them into actionable plans and build brand campaigns that generate revenue. Here’s an overview of what I did to bring this idea to life: 
  • Saw a problem and created a solution - protein bar on the go
  • Improved the idea by adding waterproof packaging - surfers can tuck into their wetsuit and refuel in between sets
  • Mocked up packaging design 
  • Wrote the creative product description
  • Planned the photoshoot content
  • Built out the marketing campaign
  • Identified new product distribution channels
This is just one example of how being part of my clients’ teams leads to big wins.
