Denver Water Pipe Replacement to Begin in 2025 |
|
The Littleton Downtown Development Authority is excited to announce a collaboration between Denver Water and the City of Littleton. Beginning February 2025, Denver Water will kick off the first phase of a long-term strategy, replacing over 3,300 linear feet of aging water mains in Downtown Littleton. This work is in advance of Project Downtown improvements, scheduled to begin in 2026. Funded by Denver Water, the pipe replacement project will eliminate this work from the City's future construction scope, reducing costs and the likelihood of future repairs. To minimize impacts to businesses and traffic, work will begin after the holiday season and will primarily occur at night. In addition, Denver Water and the City of Littleton will work to coordinate street restoration and are both committed to construction management best practices. Denver Water anticipates that the replacement work along Main Street will take six to eight weeks, with the entire project slated to last approximately four months. Project Downtown, funded by the City, will follow the Denver Water project. The City is currently working on the design and construction is expected to begin in 2026. Denver Water, the City and the DDA will share more information about the Denver Water pipe replacement project with impacted businesses and residents as details are finalized. For general information, visit denverwater.org/Pipes, or email WaterUDoing@denverwater.org. |
