"Embraced" is a self-portrait that delves into the complexities of self-
acceptance and the search for inner peace. In this piece, I portray myself enveloped in a warm, ethereal embrace of my favorite blanket (I knitted myself), symbolizing the act of accepting and acknowledging all aspects of my being, and embracing the nature’s elements that fuel my creative spirit. The use of the landscape evokes a sense of tranquility and peace - it is the elements of nature where I feel safe and accepted. The embrace, however, is not passive but rather active and intentional, signifying the ongoing journey of
embracing oneself fully.
"Embraced" is not simply a self-portrait; it is an invitation to the viewer to consider their own relationship with self-acceptance. It prompts introspection and encourages a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of the self and where we belong.
Through this artwork, I hope to inspire a sense of empathy and understanding, not only towards oneself but also towards others. Ultimately, "Embraced" is a testament to the transformative power of self-acceptance, a journey towards wholeness, inner peace and finding your space.
