love, monday

Dear First name / friend,

Good morning and HAPPY MONDAY!

Are you easing into this week with a fresh mindset, or are you still shaking off the weekend fog? Either way, here we are, diving into another Monday, and I hope you’ve got your coffee close by.

Over the years, one thing that has transformed my mornings from chaotic (and hungover) to calm and rested is the simple power of routine. Establishing a rhythm in my daily life has helped me focus on what truly matters and stay grounded, even when life feels anything but predictable. It hasn’t always been this way, though.

There was a time when every day felt like a scramble, chasing the next task or to-do list item without a sense of purpose or direction. I’d start the day hoping for productivity, only to end it feeling like I hadn’t accomplished anything meaningful. Sound familiar? If so, you’re not alone.

Seth Godin says, "Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you should set up a life you don’t need to escape from." This quote hits home for me, but it also inspired me to take control of my everyday life—starting with how I spent my mornings.

The truth is, our daily routines set the tone for our lives. (I know, this made me roll my eyes for years too). They help us stay centered and aligned with our goals. But it’s not just about productivity; it’s about creating a routine that supports your well-being.
If you’re feeling scattered or overwhelmed, it might be time to revisit the simple idea of establishing a routine. One that isn’t rigid or exhausting but brings clarity, peace, and a sense of accomplishment to your day.

Here are three small shifts to start building a routine you love:

1. Anchor Your Mornings
Whether it’s enjoying a slow cup of coffee, reading for 10 minutes, or journaling, start your day with something that centers you. Mornings are your time to set the tone for the day—use them to nurture yourself before the demands of the world kick in.

2. Schedule Breaks (Yes, Really!)
We all know that endless hustle can lead to burnout. Be intentional about scheduling short, restorative breaks throughout the day. Even a five-minute walk outside or some deep breathing can work wonders to reset your mind and recharge your energy.

3. Reflect at the End of the Day
Take a few minutes before bed to reflect on what worked well and what didn’t. This will help you make adjustments for the next day. It’s a great way to wind down and give yourself credit for all you did.

Routine doesn’t mean mundane—it means intentionality. It’s about building a life you don’t need to escape from, where you wake up excited for Monday, not just Friday.

Here's to a week filled with peace, productivity, and purpose!

love, katy
