A European/Mexican city
When I was thinking of which trip might be a fun highlight for October, I was reminded of how in Mexico they celebrate Dia de los Muertos or “Day of the Dead” right around Halloween.
I was fortunate that 2 of my dear cousins invited me along on a trip a few years ago in October. It is a long way from NY, but well worth the travel!
Tucked into the central Mexican highlands, this cultural and artistic colonial-era UNESCO city is home to charming cobblestone streets, soaring architecture and an impressive food scene. It is often rated the #1 city in the world by Travel & Leisure readers.
We stayed at the Rosewood, which was way more than a hotel. It was a hub of activity and tranquility. Every night we went up to the rooftop to experience a festive cocktail scene and the best views in town. We also enjoyed spa services, a tequila tasting, my first hot air balloon ride and nightly fireworks!
