Anyone else hella exhausted during the day this week? Is it eclipse energy? Or was it my intense sauna session two nights ago? I also ran out of matcha. This week has not been it but interestingly, despite the exhaustion, my sleep has been amazing. I suppose a win is a win.
Taking it slow for the week and wondering how we're nearly thru the month of September. How? Why? 2025 will be here before we know it. 🥲

Fall Edition 🛍️ 🛒
Fall is truly my favorite season and I hope we get a real fall because why is it still 80 degrees outside. 🍂🍁
Higherdose Infrared Sauna Blanket: Years ago, when office life was the norm, I was quite religious about my workout classes and self-care routine. Evening Peloton and Shadowboxing classes followed by a oh so relaxing sauna session for muscle recovery. Back then (perhaps even now), Higherdose rented out a hotel down in Tribeca, so your sauna experience was complete with an in-room personal shower. Perfection.
But in 2019, I made the investment in their sauna blanket to schvitz in the privacy of my home. 10/10 recommend. Apart from muscle recovery and sweating out any toxins, this will give you the best, deep sleep. I've been using it more regularly these past few weeks and wow, pure bliss.
I snagged it for $399 back then but it's now priced at $699. It seems the major upgrade to the blanket is that it now has a zipper along the side—mine has a large velcro seal. But I did recently snag their blanket insert which did not exist when I made my purchase years ago.
Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+: Summer may be over but we're still religiously applying our SPF. Yes? Yes. I was running low on the lotion version and decided to try the stick version for change. Love it! Goes on clear and skin feels super moisturized. I don't wear makeup so I can't comment on how it works with that but I will say you're left with a nice dewy glow after applying.
Bala Bangles: These were an underused purchase from COVID quarantine days. But the girlies have now made them famous for arm toning on their hot girl walks. I've been using these consistently the past 2 months for leisurely walks around the neighborhood—bicep curls, serve the platter, around the world. I have the 2lbs but I feel like I could easily upgrade to 3lb now. Don't roll your eyes at the weight size—the Pilates girlies know what's up. You will be sweating and getting a full workout in, if you up your sets. I've never taken a Pilates class but I'm ready to be humbled. 🙇🏾♀️
These have been consistently sold out the last few months but add yourself to their waitlist—you might also find them at your local Target as well.
Namai Studio's Cropped Quilted Patchwork Kantha Jacket: Cozy jackets for cozy season! Bianca makes the most gorgeous jackets from vintage kantha quilts. I have one and can't wait to break it out as soon as the air gets crisp and temps start to drop. She's introduced lighter weight options as well, like this cropped version that you can probably get away with wearing in the summer or even this fall if these temps keep up..
Before we get to the article—have y'all seen that TikTok trend where women play a spicy audio to see how their partners or husbands will respond? I couldn't help but laugh because the true gag was how they exposed themselves for likely having such a vanilla sex life.💀🤣 If your partner is scandalized and blushing over by some cheap smut audio—GIRL. Please reconsider your choices. Y'all really exposed yourselves with this trend!!!
Anyways, Gillian Anderson to the rescue. Her new book, Want: Sexual Fantasies by Anonymous, which released this week is meant to “help women feel more comfortable expressing their most intimate desires and embracing what feels good.”
While Anderson has worked on projects focused on women’s pleasure in the past, her book was especially inspired as she was preparing for her role as a sex therapist in the series Sex Education. She had come across the 1973 best seller My Secret Garden, in which journalist Nancy Friday, collected women’s anonymous sexual fantasies at a time when it was taboo to acknowledge that women fantasized about anyone other than their husbands.
Anderson's literary agent suggested compiling a contemporary version of the book and set up an encrypted portal for women to submit their fantasies. They received 1,118 letters and used 174 in the book—including a fantasy written by Gillian Anderson herself. (She won’t reveal which one.)
Anderson shares “If I’m honest, I think there are two sides to me, as perhaps there are to many women: the side that is good at asking for what I want and the side that will concede to my partner’s desires, that is happy to share my innermost urges but only if my partner starts the conversation (and then not all of them),” she writes in the introduction. “Is that due to shame? Or an indication that I wouldn’t trust anyone with that level of intimacy? Or is it that I think it’s somehow better to be, in part, unknowable?”
If that TikTok trend was any indication, not much has changed since 1973! 🫦
I love meeting friends for a mid-week lunch at Taqueria Ramirez, so I'm excited to check out their sister location in East Village. Anyone been yet? 🌮🐷
Y'all—Jabe Jude has to be my favorite account on TikTok. Please follow him immediately! He appeared on my FYP one day during a LIVE and I've been loving his show, especially since I love Lovers Rock so much. He will randomly go live—I want to say mainly on Sundays and will play old school reggae vinyls from his home in the UK. It's the best background music as you're vibing, cooking, or chilling indoors on the weekend. So wholesome. 😌
