greetings
& HAPPY AUTUMN
My dearest flower friends,

Wow, it has been a minute (er…6 months?!). Truthfully, I am ashamed with how much time has passed since my last email back in March. In all honesty, life has gotten in the way. Or rather, life was being lived - fully!

But that’s not to say the I did not strain against the flurry of thoughts that rush to my head every day, of words I wished to share here, sparks flying everywhere, insights waiting dormant. Some essays I have recovered from the ashes, waiting for some TLC to be shared, someday.

As the summer sun met its zenith at solstice and then some, the past few months have been filled primarily with wedding planning and flowering - both for my own wedding and for my wonderful brides that I am honored to work with. I truly love weddings so much. As a florist, as a guest, as a bridesmaid, as a bride. To celebrate love with your loved ones is one of life’s most cherished moments. A day that glows into eternity.

I love getting to know each couple and coming up with custom designs that are both unique and romantic. My greatest hope is that the flowers reflect the story and vibe of each couple, and most importantly, that they enhance the celebration with beauty and joy. There's something especially special about making bridal bouquets. Imbuing my blessings and good fortune into the flowers that symbolize everlasting love, with raw silk ribbon flowing in the wind. What a gift to be a part of these important life milestones, adorning memories of a lifetime with floral enchantment.

As for my own wedding, it was nothing short of magical - a flower-filled fairy tale set against the backdrop of the Marin headlands, and the perfect capstone to our love story. I am so grateful for all of my family, friends, and vendors who made the day come to life (more on them below!). And of course, to my lean-and-mean flower team who made my floral dreams come true. Also special shout out to my intrepid father who slept outside amongst the flower buckets one night so that the deer wouldn’t eat them (thanks, Dad!).

Alas, I feel as though the part about weddings not discussed enough is its aftermath – that is, the actual act of being legally married. I could not have imagined the happiness that comes from committing to a human to share your life with. The deep security and groundedness I feel is like nothing else - as if an invisible tether keeps us connected and steady, one delicate heartstring strung between two souls. I feel empowered and embodied - as though I can do nearly anything now, the sky is the limit - as though my wings can flutter and fly because no matter what happens, I have a nest to return to. No matter where I am, he is Home.

Speaking of nests, I’m thrilled to announce that Fleurvoyant has officially opened up floral operations in Los Angeles, just in time for the autumnal equinox! Our new LA-based studio is in full swing and we’re so excited to take on more California brides and clients for weddings and events.

After six weeks of moving, adventure, celebration, and nomadic life, Tyler and I are finally settling into our new home in Santa Monica, with the intention to be closer to family, friends, the ocean, and more farm-fresh flowers (I see you LA flower market!). Already, I feel my nervous system calming down, a much appreciated respite from the hustle and bustle of New York City, though I'll be back often.

Most importantly, we’re keeping our flagship Fleuvoyant studio running in New York City. This branch is now led by my lead designer, Caroline Ciez, one of my most trusted and talented florists who has been working with our team since inception. I am so delighted to partner more closely with Caroline, as we evolve Fleurvoyant into a thriving entity that will allow us to organically grow and flower as a bi-coastal business.

That being said, thank you for all of your support in our floral journey. If you have any referrals for agencies, planners, or freelance florists in LA, please send them our way! We’re excited to expand our flower presence while continuing to invest in our clients and community on each coast. Indeed, this is only the beginning…

xx,
Emily

our wedding angels.
thank you to our vendors
It was a beautiful process to work with so many amazing creatives and producers for our wedding, many of them friends. What a blessing to support and celebrate their gifts and offerings. I have way too much to say about each and every one (believe me, I tried) - so just trust me in that they are truly remarkable and talented in what they do.

A LIGHT DUSTING OF what i'm loving right now

With love,
