Solar Array Land Supporting Agriculture |
The Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center is kicking off a program to link immigrant and Latinx community members with agricultural backgrounds to lands within existing solar arrays on Colorado's Front Range. We are actively looking for qualifying participants who want to start a new agribusiness to reach out to us so we can explain the support we can provide. We are also actively looking for solar asset owners on the Front Range who want to expand their knowledge of agrivoltaics and work with participants we identify. Current Scope: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Jefferson, Larimer, Morgan, and Weld Counties. Do you work with Latinx or immigrant communities in these counties? Are you a solar company with projects in these counties? |

CATCH UP ON THE PAST FEW MONTHS |
In collaboration with the Alliance for Collective Action, we hosted our annual farm-to-table fundraiser at Jack's Solar Garden on September 14th. Fabulous food was provided by Chef Robert, at Greener Pastures, with produce grown directly underneath the solar panels! Lovely music and great people made for a wonderful evening all around! Thank you to all who came and supported us, and for those that continue to support us each year. We appreciate you all! |

We launched our Agrivoltaic Seminar Series! On September 5th, we opened at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder, where we heard from Dan Bilello (NREL), Anja Richmond (Colorado Energy Research Collaboratory), Rebecca Perrin (EPA, R8), Gene Kelly (CSU), and Heidi VanGenderen (CU Boulder) on the importance of collaboration and innovation, and most importantly, agrivoltaics! We followed up quickly with another session on September 19th at CSU where we heard from Mike Kruger (COSSA), Patrick Kelly (Leeward Energy), Brysen Daughton (Cloud Break Energy), Lindsey Guinther (Lightsource BP), and Noah Eckert (Redeux Energy) on solar development and the integration of agrivoltaics. |
We spoke with Bradley Heins (University of Minnesota), Josh Bennett (EDF Renewables), Brent Huwa (Huwa Enterprises), and Stephen Herbert (University of Massachussets) about their work and outlook on integrating cattle into agrivoltaic arrays. If you missed it, check out the recording here. |
