November 22nd | Upcoming Meeting

Friday, November 22, 2024
9:00 - 10:30

Location: TBD

Greenwich Food Alliance has been meeting bi-monthly as a Community of Practice since November 2021. Thank you to all who have participated and supported GFA in some capacity - we would not have made it this far without your participation. And, it's time to restructure so we can grow and deepen our work together.

I am excited to share that Karen Saggese will co-lead GFA. Karen is the Co-Site Director at Food Rescue-US Fairfield County. She works closely with the CT Zero Waste Coalition, and other statewide initiatives. Karen stewards a robust home garden (including chickens + quail) is an avid food justice advocate, attorney by trade, a mother of three and a remarkable colleague and friend to many of us! Thank you Karen for joining us in taking GFA into its next phase.

At our November meeting we look forward to your feedback/input on our proposed GFA restructuring plan.

Please feel free to invite anyone you think might be interested in
getting involved or who is already doing this work and would like
to be represented within the Alliance.

School Meals for All CT: survey
Please share survey with your networks!

Let your voice be heard! School Meals for All CT  is conducting a brief survey to gather parent & caregiver input and stories regarding the importance of increasing access to free school meals for all students. We believe advocacy from those impacted most is crucial to shaping the future of school nutrition and ensuring that every child has access to nutritious meals. Together, we can make a significant impact in the lives of children across Connecticut. See survey HERE.

Western Connecticut Regional Farm Viability Study: survey
Please share survey with your networks!

West COG is conducting a Farm Viability Study for Western CT. This is critically important for our food security, health and well being — now and for future generations. This study will help inform/shape land use in the coming decades. Pass it along to your network, family, neighbors. The viability of our communities are intricately connected to the viability of CT and regional farms. See survey HERE.
