Dear friends,

 

Dan and I were wed in the apple orchard last weekend and I am still grounding back down to earth. While the ceremony itself was full of earthly delights (pouring wine, milk and honey on the trees, processing through the orchard, delicious apple bites) it has taken a few days to settle back in on the other side of this threshold. Our beloved officiant, Dori Midnight, used the phrase love ritual for what took place last Saturday and I have been integrating this ritual, feeling it unfurl and change me over this past week. 

 

Thankfully, we are in Burdock month in Herbal Mystery School, so I have the help of this great taproot to fully digest the love ritual. Thank you, Burdock. I've been making a grounding, fortifying brew which I want to share with you here, in case you need some deep grounding, too. As a reminder, there are many other earth-grounding rituals and practices in the pre-recorded Veil Opener: Autumnal Plant Magic class, which is still offered on the website for only $33. Note that this recipe uses Nonna-style measurements; it's not rigid, you feel what is best for you! 

I'll be stepping away from the newsletter (& email!) for the next few weeks for a honeymoon, but I'll be back in your inbox at the end of October to open applications for Herbal Mystery School and Flowering Round. I have decided to offer informational council sessions on zoom about each program leading up to the application window – if you are considering applying, you might want to put this in your calendar! Since I will be absent from this space for most of October, I wanted to leave you with some links for recent media & podcasts where I was honored to be interviewed! Some words are offered below with each link. But first… here's a picture of our apple grove for the love ritual. When we transplanted the orchard over two years ago, way before Dan and I were ever engaged, I knew I wanted to plant five apple trees in a star-formation in the center of the orchard. I had a feeling this would be where we got married one day. It was very special to see all of that come into being. My dear friends Mel & Evita came out early from California to harvest and arrange flowers with me in the days leading up to the ceremony. They created this beautiful arrangement in the center of the apple star, a true work of art.  

OFF THE GRID: My newsletter on leaving instagram was the most read (and responded to) email I have ever sent out. It seems like navigating life and biz off social media is something that many of us are thinking about. I would not have left instagram if it wasn't for Amelia and her incredible podcast, Off The Grid: Leaving Social Media Without Losing All Your Clients. I listened to this podcast for a year and a half while bottling potions in the apothecary before deciding I was finally ready to quit, and everything that Amelia offers in terms of thinking about biz off social media has been beyond helpful to me, someone who believed that I needed to be on IG in order to run a successful business. So I was beyond honored to be a guest on the show, talking about my spiraling path on and off social media. Listen here.
