What’s happening on the farm this fall...

Hello to our Montessori123 family!

This fall, we’ve been embracing the natural rhythm of the season on our little farm. Most Sundays, we try to gather as a family to plan our week, month, and season using a visual calendar. It's a simple way to give the girls a sense of what’s ahead and helps us all stay grounded amidst the busyness of life.

Our weekends have been filled with overnight backpacking trips, offering the girls a chance to pack their own bags and learn what they truly need. We’ve had a few turnarounds for forgotten items—a down jacket for Pearl, a headlamp for me—but each adventure seems to bring more independence to all of us. Being in the mountains allows us to connect as a family, away from everyday responsibilities.

We make an effort to have dinner together at least three times during the school week, sharing our “roses, thorns, and buds” or “high, low, buffalo” moments. These conversations help us reflect on our days and stay present with each other.

All of these adventures, celebrations and challenges remind us that we're learning, growing, and finding our way, one step at a time each and every day.
