Financing the Future of Food: Insights from Learning Event On 27 September, 35 experts convened in Amsterdam to explore how finance can accelerate the transformation of food systems, with a strong focus on innovative financing and collaboration between public, private financial actors. Co-organized by NFP, Foresight4Food, and Rabo Partnerships, the event delved into key topics such as food systems thinking, financial flows to food systems, and the challenges faced by financial institutions in supporting food system transformation. Prominent speakers, including the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FMO, Invest International, IDH, IFAD, and FAO, discussed both challenges and opportunities in financing the future of food. The event concluded with a twofold strategy: prioritizing knowledge sharing and fostering strong partnerships to drive forward meaningful change. |

AFS Forum 2024: Innovating & Scaling Food Systems in a Climate Era The AFS Forum 2024 in Kigali recently concluded after bringing together nearly 5,000 delegates from 97 countries, including ministers, CEOs, donors, and innovative start-ups. The forum focused on the theme "Innovate, Accelerate, Scale," emphasizing Africa’s need for food system transformation in the face of climate and digital challenges. Key discussions highlighted the importance of MSMEs, improving soil health, and scaling regenerative agriculture. Youth leadership took center stage, with calls for inclusive policies that provide access to finance, information, and land. Dutch organizations also played a prominent role, showcasing innovations and supporting transformative discussions. |
