CITY CENTRE CLEAN UP

 

Following on from the highly successful and well received City Centre Spring Clean, Coventry BID is planning an Autumn Clean Up.

 

This will take place on the 12th November at 10am till 12pm, meeting at the Lady Godiva Statue in Broadgate.

 

We would like to get as many volunteers as possible from Coventry Businesses to showcase the pride we have for our city centre. We will provide all the necessary equipment required, all we need is enthusiastic volunteers.

SKYDOME TURNS 25

 

A much-loved city centre venue needs your pictures for its 25th birthday!

 

In the same year that Posh and Becks tied the knot, the third Harry Potter book hit the shelves, and Britney Spears topped the charts with ‘…Baby One More Time,’ Coventry’s Skydome opened its doors for the very first time.

 

Now, 25 eventful years later, Skydome is inviting you to join the celebrations by sharing your favorite memories. Whether you danced the night away at the legendary Ikon and Diva, took to the ice at the rink, or even met your partner there, Skydome wants to see your pictures and hear your stories.

 

Help us mark this milestone by submitting your throwback photos and memories. Capture the magic of the noughties and beyond, and send them to hello@pieceofcakemarketing.co.uk by Monday, October 14th. Your snapshots could feature in a special anniversary video to be shared across Skydome's social media channels!

 

In addition to your memories, Skydome will be running exciting giveaways throughout October on their Facebook and Instagram pages (@Coventryskydome), offering fans the chance to win some amazing prizes.

EVERY STORY MATTERS EVENT

 

Every Story Matters is touring the UK, offering individuals and communities the opportunity to share their story in-person.

 

On Monday 14th October 2024, the UK Covid-19 Inquiry will be running a local event in Coventry, at the Belgrade Theatre between 10am - 4:30pm and they are keen to work with local people in the area.

 

Covid-19 Inquiry has launched a campaign called Every Story Matters (independent from the government) which aims to encourage the public to share their pandemic experience. It’s a really important subject matter, as stories shared (all anonymised) are valuable insights and will help the Inquiry’s investigation into the government’s handling of covid, shape recommendations and ultimately help future generations to come.

 

The pandemic affected every single person in the UK and, in many cases, continues to have a lasting impact on lives. While we can’t change the past, we can shape the future. Which is why the Covid-19 Inquiry is calling on everyone from across the UK to get involved and share their individual stories. Every one of our experiences is unique and Every Story Matters offers people the opportunity to share the impact the pandemic had on them and their lives.
