  • Dandelion Pop-Up features Vulture Food serving up its vegan junk food on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at 1300 Howard St.
  • West O Wine Walk is Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. on Main Street of Olde Towne Elkhorn. Cost is $20 and includes 15+ stops and live music. Must be 21+.
  • Buzzed for Bees, a fundraiser held by the Omaha American Association of Zoo Keepers, will be Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Kros Strain Draft Works, 1209 Millwork Ave. Food vendors include Clean Slate Food Co., Burning Bridges, and Coneflower Creamery. Breweries include Kros Strain Brewing, Full Fledged, Jukes Ale Works, Lumen, Monolithic. There will also be live music, raffles, and the Husker volleyball game on TV.
  • Site-1 Brewing, 2566 Farnam St., celebrates Oktoberfest Friday through Sunday. There will be German-style beers, limited edition Reuben pizza and Reuben sandwich, and live music with Wood Hoops on Saturday.
  • Champagne Problems - A Taylor Swift Brunch is Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sips on 10th, 1022 S. 10th St. Ticket is $70 and includes admission for two people as well as a bottle of JCB No 21 to enjoy. Must be 21+.
  • Farm Fest: City Sprouts' Annual Fundraiser is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Venue at Highlander Accelerator, 2120 N. 30th St. The event celebrates urban growers and people making an impact in the local food equity movement. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for kids; price goes up after Oct. 4.
  • Revelton Distillery Meet The Maker Event is Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Spirit World, 6680 Center St. There will be free samples of their Single Barrel Bourbon, Rye, Mulberry Gin, Barrel Rested Gin, American Gin, Honey Whiskey, Honey Vodka, Vodka, and Whiskey & Cream Liqueur. Must be 21+.
  • Dining Under the Stars featuring Tim Nicholson, Executive Chef of the Old Market's Boiler Room, will be Sunday at at MCC's Institute for the Culinary Arts - Fort Omaha Campus at 32nd and Sorenson Parkway. Cocktails start at 5:30 p.m. followed by the five-course meal. Cost is $300 per person (includes food and drink pairing by V. Mertz Advanced Sommelier, Matthew Brown). Event proceeds support the students and programs at MCC.
  • Upcoming Halloween Tea Parties at The Bubbly Tart, 3020 Leavenworth St., are Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Oct. 19 from noon to 1:30 p.m., Oct. 19 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., and Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tea Parties are $60 per person.

  • Tequila Cocktail Class is Wednesday at Spirit World, 6680 Center St. Learn how to pair tequila with other flavors with demonstrations on how to make three different tequila cocktails. Samples, recipes and instructions provided. Cost is $30; must pre-register. Explorer Series Wine Class - Amalfi Coast is Oct. 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Cost is $40 and includes instruction and wine samples. Must be 21+.

  • Kids in the Kitchen: Spooky Boards (for ages 4-8 and a parent) is Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at Hy-Vee, 11650 S. 73rd St., Papillion, Neb. Each child will learn five recipes, making his/her own charcuterie-style spooky snack board, and will be able to keep this mini wood cutting board to take home. $17

  • Dining Etiquette and Charcuterie Board Class for ages 12+ is Oct. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Leaders 2 Legends Academy, 1423 Ogden St. The first hour covers the essentials of proper dining etiquette for both formal and casual settings; the second hour focuses on designing a visually stunning and delicious charcuterie board.   • Grace Pizza and Shakes, 136 N. Jefferson St., Papillon, Neb., opened on Oct. 3. The restaurant, with locations in Texas and Florida, has been getting a lot of attention for the over-the-top shakes.
  • Hot Pot 88's soft opening started yesterday at 2502 S. 130th Ave. The official opening will be tomorrow, Oct. 9.
  • Good Lookin' officially opened their second location at 16920 Wright Plaza, Suite 118, on Oct. 5. Hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • The chain Crispy Burger opened its first location in Omaha in early October in Aksarben Village, 1918 S. 67th St. Menu includes fried chicken sandwiches, Orleans drumsticks, burgers, fried chicken, and chicken rolls.
  • Haunted Kamp Grounds, a Halloween pop-up, is now open at Kamp Blackstone, 3618 Farnam St. Themed drinks include Nocturnal Espresso, Burned Alive, and Poisoned Apple.
  • Nebraska Pork Producers Association has started a passport program for the Omaha Pork Tenderloin Trail, featuring five stops: Buck’s Bar & Grill, Cafe Diem, Catfish Lake at the Lodge, Winchester’s, and Tiger Tom’s Sports Pub. Visit all locations to collect stamps by April 30, 2025 to receive an official T-shirt. Request the passport at the participating restaurants.
  • Sips on 10th, 1022 S. 10th St., announced their new menu with eight new cocktails. This week’s featured drink is Punkin’ Flip.
  • Buttered Marshmallow is celebrating 5 years old and to celebrate, they're giving away three gift certificates. To enter, guess the number of marshmallows they've used in five years. Entry form is here. Last day to enter is Friday at 2 p.m.
  • Izzy's Pizza announced they would not open their second location at the new Prehistoric Putt opening at 120th Street and West Center Road. In the announcement, they said the change means they will be able to keep their Pizza Bus going to more places.
  • Bluejays Ice Cream and Candy announced they will be opening in November at 101 S. 14th St. in Ashland, Neb. Flavors include Caramel Cheesecake Cookie Monster, Better Brownie Batter, and Key Lime Pie. Their full list of flavors can be found here.
  • CLOSINGS: Mouth of the South announced last night they were closing their Old Market location effective immediately. The Lakeside location remains open at 16909 Lakeside Hills Plaza. Pizza Pie Guys, 5138 N. 156th St., announced they will be closing. Sugared Ledge Bakery announced the closing of their West Shores location, 110 N. 243rd St., Waterloo, Neb. Their location at 920 N. 204th Ave., Elkhorn, Neb., remains open. Jones Bros Cupcakes closed their Aksarben Village location on Monday; the Westroads Mall location, 10000 California St., remains open.

  • Oktoberfest at The Warehouse, 1414 West Broadway, Council Bluffs, Iowa, is Oct. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. featuring live Polka music, an authentic German menu, and German beers. Tickets are $40.
  • Taps and Apps is Oct. 20 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Scriptown Brewing Co., 3922 Farnam St. Try four courses of samplings featuring the flavors of Lazy Buffalo BBQ paired with Scriptown brews. Beer samples will be served in an 8-ounce Scriptown branded tumbler glass that attendees take home. Must be 21+.
  • Beer and Spirits Dinner is Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at Gather In Omaha, 1108 Howard St., featuring a curated menu paired with craft brews and spirits from Brickway Brewery & Distillery and Lucky Bucket Brewing Co. Drinks presented by Zac Triemert, president & master brewer & food courses presented by Chef Vincent Ormsby and Chef Ian Harvey. Cost is $75. Must be 21+.
  • Four Sisters Boutique and Corkscrew Wine & Cheese host Girls Night Out on Oct. 22 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the boutique located at 2900 S. 110th St. Sip wine, shop, and enjoy raffles.
  • Upcoming Douglas County Historical Society events include “Lunch at Windsor Castle and Royal Jewelry Sale” is Oct. 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Champions Run, 13800 Eagle Run Drive.  Gerald Charles Dickens, great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens, will perform “Dickens and the Queen,” his original work based on accounts of Charles Dickens’ only meeting with Queen Victoria. Tickets $75. “Dickens, Drama and Culinary Delights” is Oct. 24 at 6:00 p.m. at the General Crook House Museum, 5730 N. 30th St. Tickets are $110 and include heavy hors d’oeuvres, libations and high drama as Gerald Charles Dickens performs “Sikes and Nancy,” a haunting excerpt from Oliver Twist.   • A Night of Haunting Elegance with Chef Clayton Chapman on Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. at The Barn, 204th and Dodge streets. Tickets are $250 and include a six-course dinner and hors d'oeuvres. The night starts with live music and costume contest (with drinks for purchase) from 5 to 6 p.m. Costumes encouraged. 
  • Comfort Soup Pop-Up Market is Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Miller Dohrmann Farm, 10025 N. 48th St.
  • Metz Beer 160th Anniversary and Czech Dinner is Nov. 1 from 5 to 11 p.m. at Infusion Brewing Co., 6271 S. 118th St. The night includes a ceremonial keg tapping of the Metz Beer Barrel at 5:45; a traditional Czech dinner of Roast Pork, Bread Dumplings, Sweet and Sour Cabbage and Rye bread catered by our friends at Eddies Catering; homemade kolaches from Sixth Street Kolaches; and live music by the Barry Boyce Band. Meals are $20 with your first beer/soft drink included.
  • National German-American Friendship Day and the Annual Grape Harvest Dance will be celebrated on Nov. 2 at the German-American Society, 3717 S. 120th St. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner starts at 6:15.   • Reuben Fest is Nov. 4-9 at Crescent Moon Ale House, 3578 Farnam St. Menu items will include the classic Reuben sandwich and Reuben egg rolls; more will be announced. Limited number of daily specials will be available. Release times will be at open at 11 a.m. on Mondays through Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday, and 6 p.m. for dinner service.
