Hi First name / friend,

What would you do if you were brave? I heard this question on a business podcast I listened to over the weekend and it's really stuck with me! Because if you’re like me, you’ve got big dreams for your business, but fear has a way of sneaking in and holding us back.

As I start to plan for the year ahead, I'm using that question to help pull me outside of my normal way of thinking and dream about what could be possible.

So if you were brave, what would the next year (or even the next month) look like for you? Would you:
  • Finally take that leap you've been thinking about?
  • Trust your gut on that one decision?
  • Send the email you’ve been putting off?
  • Give yourself permission to rest and recharge?
  • Say no to good ideas in order to stay laser-focused on your best ones?
What comes to mind when you finish this sentence: If I were brave, I would ____? For me, it led to sending an email this week that I had been procrastinating on—and let me tell you, it felt amazing once it was done!

Here's to stepping out of our comfort zones as we grow our businesses together, we've got this!

When you're stuck in a design rut or not sure what to create next, these 5 questions help me move forward every single time:
  1. What sounds fun to make today?
  2. Who could I surprise with a thoughtful gift?
  3. What do my customers want? (create a social media post and ask)
  4. What's missing/what do I want to see more of?
  5. What new design technique do I want to learn?
Free yourself from the idea that you should design a certain thing and play a little!

I'm on the hunt for the best annual planning podcast episodes, any recommendations? So far I've combed through Michael Hyatt, Bonnie Christine, Amy Porterfield, Brook Castillo, and now onto Jenna Kutcher. I'll update you with my favorites in a bit!

My Glowforge died for good and it's no real surprise that I'm on week 4 back-and-forth with customer support and no refurb in sight. I've had a hard time knowing which new laser to order, but by this time next week I will have made my decision (and I'm telling you so you can hold me to it!)

Until next time, happy lasering!
