The leaves may be turning orange and gold in your neck of the woods, but here, once late September-early October rolls around, folks put on shorts and short skirts. The parks are filled with picnickers and yard games. The restaurants are overflowing.

This weekend, it was over eighty degrees.

Since many of our buildings—especially the old Victorians—don't have air conditioning. When your year-round temperature is between 62 and 72 F, why bother to install it? Our heat is dry, not sultry. Still, it seems as if the whole city is down at the waterfront — usually Ocean Beach, or the Marina's Crissy Field.

Sadly, “summer in San Francisco” all too short—
which makes it all the sweeter.
I can't wait to hear why it's special for you too!

Fall also brings the Blue Angels!
The show starts tomorrow, but they were practicing today, Usually, I sit in my the center of backyard in a lounge chair, waiting for the rumble that, in the hour-long show, inevitably means some top gunner is directly overhead. If I'm quick enough, I can take a photo or video as they fly over. Today, I was inside, sitting on my couch beside the window. By then, my ears were attuned to their flight path. As it turns out, two of the planes flew right over the house behind us.
Talk about sitting in the catbird seat!
I'm sure I'll take a lot of photos and videos, and I'll be posting them on my Facebook page.
