I'd say "fall", but the weather seems to have other plans. That's o.k. We can still enjoy "spooky" season one way or another. Hocus Pocus is one of my favorite Halloween movies. Not only for the cheesy lines and obvious fun had by the actresses, but also because deep down, despite all of the "magic" used throughout the movie, both witches and humans had to rely upon basic fundamentals and quick thinking.
How often do we become discouraged when we watch videos of people mastering a task right away or showing off their (flexibility, strength gains, amazing skills - fill in the blank here).
It's hard not to think, this person did Item X in the 1 minute time lapse presented. But, of course, we don't usually get to see the epic fail moments and times this person wanted to scream with frustration because they felt they were never going to master what they were working on to film.
"Success is neither magical nor mysterious. Success is the natural consequence of consistently applying basic fundamentals."

And forgiving yourself when you "mess up" or things aren't perfect. You get up, and do it again. And again the next day.
So, in the vein of "consistency", here are two videos:
The first video was presented on Instagram (if you aren't following on social media for misc. videos and tips/tricks, the links are down below), but is a good reminder about proper sleeping posture. Sleeping posture is important to avoid stressing your spine, giving yourself a headache, or putting your body in awkward positions for long periods of time. But changing your sleeping posture requires consistency and being patient while your body adjusts to "where it needs to be."
Video #2 is your continued reminder about proper lifting, cleaning, and life-ing through the Halloween season (body disposing, leaf raking, etc. - just don't strain your back)! Get close to the objects you are working with, and use those booty muscles.
The return of the Injury Prevention series - this time we are focusing on our hips (an area that is often confused with our glutes and pelvis). Come learn about how to keep your hips mobile, but strong, and to decrease daily stressors to this important joint.
Unwind & Unknot: Listen Deeply & Open the Heart: Heart, Chest & Shoulders
This is the final Unwind & Unknot of the Year! If you haven't joined Amber from Elevate & myself for one of these events, it can be quite a relaxing treat, especially as we head into the holiday season. I'm especially excited for the heart opening moves (and of course good posture emphasis!) we will be doing. This hands-on workshop is not just about physical healing; it's a journey to reconnect with your body through movement, understand your own personal range of motion, and liberate areas that feel "stuck" or "tight." Get ready to say "ahhh!" to an intentional, relaxed and rejuvenated you.

Season 3 is buzzing along and we are already 5 Episodes in! I love all of the guests and episodes, and I am so enjoying this journey, even if it can be initially upsetting to confront how little has been studied on the female body and what women have had to "put up with."
Fortunately, it is changing and I'm excited to be here for all the changes. We are asking questions, and forcing our voices to be finally heard (especially in the areas of peri-menopause and menopause). We've been exploring topics that are not always talked about, from pelvic floor therapy (for women & men) to the pre and post natal journey, and finally about being heard by our physicians. Stay tuned and keep listening. We have a lot of good episodes ahead.
We've got t-shirts, stickers, calendars, lacrosse balls and more! Check it out below and message me if you fancy grabbing an item or two!
And finally, I wish there was a magic spell to remind us to have amazing posture, to engage your core, to pick things up properly all of the time, and to master all of your exercises to never have pain again, but honestly, we wouldn't appreciate it as much (trust me on this).
Putting the work in and seeing results (from both of us!) is the reward, even if it takes time, patience, and reminders to stay on the path.
"Do it again and again. Consistency makes the rain drops to create holes in the rock. Whatever is difficult can be done easily with regular attendance, attention, and action."
