“How did you find it in your heart to trust a man and fall in love again after your divorce?" asked Tanya. 

 

Tanya came to work with me when she was going through a messy divorce.

"If I denied myself love and happiness, then they would win. I wasn’t going to let them take one more thing from me- even if it means I’m alone.

Backstory: My family (and everyone else I knew) ostracised me when I left my marriage.

Which I knew very little about… Indian marriages aren’t focused on chemistry, love, passion they are focused on compatibility.  

 

Which I actually don’t entirely disagree with. 

 

Because we can fall in love with so many people…..

Which brings me to today's conversation: You can never find a soulmate

You create them each and every day with your choices... 

 

 

 

 

But you know what’s crazy? 

 

There are 10 million posts on Instagram about how to choose the “right” partner

 

And yes, choosing well is a big part of the equation... 

 

But it’s only the beginning. 

 

No matter how well you choose, you can’t just “find” a soul mate. 

 

 

You create a 30-year partnership. 

 

You choose each other every day. 

 

How do you choose each other?

Look I get it- relationships are work.
