Hi everyone,
The cooler weather and possibility of moisture is in the forecast! Now is the perfect time to do some prepping on your yard and flower beds. I would get your next round of fertilizers applied or grass overseeded and allow mother nature to water it in for you! That's the best water there is for your flower beds! I would start pulling out all the dead flowers and replace them with fall ones to keep some color showing. If you choose not to plant fall flowers (trust me I get it, you are over watering and just want a break till next spring), I would definitely add some mulch to help retain moisture and keep weeds from growing. If you still have a great garden going, I would pull out your frost blankets and have them on stand bye as it is Texas and we all know how the weather is. Now is the time to prepare your house plants for the transition from outside to inside. I have uploaded a video to Facebook on how to start the transition.
We will be having a couple more big Saturday events before 2025! The Gobble Gathering will be on November 2nd and Holly Jolly at the Greenhouse on December 7th. We have started advertising and already have a lot of vendors signing up! Trust me, this is a day you don't want to miss and the perfect time to start checking stuff off on your Christmas list!
If you have been putting off on planting your fall garden we still have time! Our starts are looking great so check below for the special on them! Garlic and onion starts are in as well as other vegetable seeds for your fall garden like beets, radishes, and carrots.
Pumpkins, gourds, corn, corn stalks, and hay are all here and displayed for you to purchase! These will complement the mums, ornamental cabbage and kale as well as pansies in your flower bed or flower pot!
We have started back our Thursday evenings on the patio! TOMORROW will be the LAST DIY pumpkin class with food truck Porch Swing Eats & Treatz. October 24th will be singer Miranda Pjesky with food truck Tio Bros! Trust me you don't want to miss it!
Saturday October 19th from 2-4pm we will have a painting party on the patio with Jodie. If you would like to attend, please RSVP. We have created an event on Facebook, or you can email me.
Cody and I have started doing a Facebook live every Saturday morning at 9am. During this time, we will talk about what all is happening in the greenhouse, as well as answer any questions you might have. So make sure and jump on the live or email me with questions.
We will start pre-booking the poinsettias soon, so be watching for that.
