Hi friends 💫
It’s been awhile since I’ve sent you an email, and honestly I missed writing to you so much. I’m so glad to be back in your inbox. 🫶🫶🫶
Question for you...have you ever heard of a glimmer✨?
A glimmer is the opposite of a trigger; it is a moment or a food or a feeling or a friend or anything at all, no matter how small, that ignites feelings of joy, happiness, excitement and love.
It is so therapeutic, finding and identifying these teeny tiny or big and juicy pieces of life. The moments that give us body tingles, shivers and goosebumps, secret sly smiles, or the unbearable urge to dance, just a little, when they hit. When everything becomes so good, even if just for a second or two - a brief glimmer in time.
In a world where everything is so heavy, and we are all suffering in one area of life or another or many (and often in silence), it’s just such a relief from the things that are weighing us down to stop and see the sparkles on the waves.
And let me tell you that over this long weekend, I experienced so many glimmers and am so grateful. Things that made me smile:
- Embarked on a solo road trip with minimal traffic 🚗
- Used my points to upgrade my room and ate really frickin’ good meatballs by candlelight in my hotel jacuzzi tub and watched Friends 🍝
- Stopped at some of my fave Lake Superior beaches on the drive including Katherine Cove, Old Woman Bay (where I put my feet in) and Selim Beach (shown below) 👣
- Met a bear who hangs out here at my parents’ place, from a safe distance and we have agreed to co-exist (check my Insta ⬇️ for the video) 🐻
- Saw an 80,000-year-old comet soaring over Lake Superior, completely at random (talk about a glimmer!) ☄️
- Spent time with people I love eating food that I love made with love ❤️
What are the glimmers in your life right now?
