  • Sausagefest runs through Sunday at Bailey's Breakfast & Lunch, 1259 S. 120th St., featuring specials and an eight-sausage sampler.
  • Voodoo Taco celebrates its 11th Anniversary today and tomorrow with food and drink specials at all four locations. Dine-in only.
  • Producer Visit - 2XO with Dixon Dedman is today from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Dundee Dell, 5007 Underwood Ave. Whiskies that will be tasted during the event include American Oak, French Oak, Sneakerhead, and Gem of Kentucky. Tickets are $10.
  • Beer and Spirits Dinner is today at 6 p.m. at Gather In Omaha, 1108 Howard St., featuring a curated menu paired with craft brews and spirits from Brickway Brewery & Distillery and Lucky Bucket Brewing Co. Drinks presented by Zac Triemert, president & master brewer & food courses presented by Chef Vincent Ormsby and Chef Ian Harvey. Cost is $75. Must be 21+.
  • Four Sisters Boutique and Corkscrew Wine & Cheese host Girls Night Out on today from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the boutique located at 2900 S. 110th St. Sip wine, shop, and enjoy raffles.
  • Upcoming Douglas County Historical Society events include “Lunch at Windsor Castle and Royal Jewelry Sale” is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Champions Run, 13800 Eagle Run Drive.  Gerald Charles Dickens, great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens, will perform “Dickens and the Queen,” his original work based on accounts of Charles Dickens’ only meeting with Queen Victoria. Tickets $75. “Dickens, Drama and Culinary Delights” is Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the General Crook House Museum, 5730 N. 30th St. Tickets are $110 and include heavy hors d’oeuvres, libations and high drama as Gerald Charles Dickens performs “Sikes and Nancy,” a haunting excerpt from Oliver Twist.   • Wednesday Wine Tasting is held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at the Original Johnny’s Cafe, 4702 S. 27th St. The next event is Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the the lounge. Enjoy samples of five wines plus plated appetizers. Reservations required; call (402) 731-4774.
  • Producer Dinner Series Featuring Federica Zeni is Wednesday at Dante,16901 Wright Plaza, Suite 173, with reservations available from 6 to 8 p.m. TIckets are $95 and include four courses, paired with four wine pours. Zeni will share stories behind the wine during the dinner.
  • The Third Annual Hunter’s Harvest Dinner, a celebration of wild game and fish with deep historic ties, at Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, 302 S. 36th St., is Thursday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Cost is $225.
  • Toppling Goliath Grand Finale (tap takeover) is Thursday at 6 p.m. at Cunningham's Pub & Grill, 10904 W. Center Road.
  • Monolithic Brewing celebrates its fourth anniversary on Friday from 3 to 10 p.m. at 4915 N. 120th St., Suite 102, with food and drink specials. During the week leading up to it, there will be two special beer releases, Shane’s Ghost Pepper Chupacabra Release today and Pumpkin Pie Espresso Self Release on Thursday. On Thursday, there will be free brewery tours at 5 and 6 p.m. with the head brewer that will include samples of Brooklyn Baby Hazy IPA, and Rational Consumer Vienna Lager.
  • Chef Around The Block Halloween Pop-Up is Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. during Halloween at the Hoff at Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center, 1001 S. Sixth St., Council Bluffs, Iowa. You'll love the menu item names.
  • The Sat-ra Temple No. 59, Daughters of the Nile Ladies’s Purple Rain 40th Anniversary Party features dinner (spaghetti & meatballs – Prince’s favorite food) and music on Friday. Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner at 7. Tickets are a $15 donation at the door. To help plan for food, seat & table reservations are requested for the event.   • A Night of Haunting Elegance with Chef Clayton Chapman on Saturday at 5 p.m. at The Barn, 204th and Dodge streets. Tickets are $250 and include a six-course dinner and hors d'oeuvres. The night starts with live music and costume contest (with drinks for purchase) from 5 to 6 p.m. Costumes encouraged.
  • The Ma'Mona Food Truck will have traditional food to celebrate the Día de Los Muertos on Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the lot of the NP Mart Gas Station at 35th and Q streets. The Pan de Muerto (death bread) and Chocolate are free, while supplies last.
  • Halloween Pancake Feast at Sozo Coffeehouse, 1314 Jones St., is Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. Enjoy free pancakes and bacon after a night out.
  • Comfort Soup Pop-Up Market is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Miller Dohrmann Farm, 10025 N. 48th St.

  • Taco Co. opened a new location inside Kamp Blackstone, 3618 Farnam St.
  • Hay Jay Coffee opened at 8001 N. 157th St., Suite 101, Bennington, Neb., this past weekend.
  • Ooh De Lally, 4916 Underwood Ave., now has a brunch buffet on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Following an outpouring of support when Pizza Pie Guys, 5138 N. 156th St., announced they were closing, the restaurant has reversed course and announced they'd reopen on Thursday starting at 4 p.m. with new staff undergoing training.
  • Cilantro's Mexican Bar & Grill is relocating to 3309 Oak View Drive, Suite 102. Their location at 14440 F St. will close by Oct. 31.
  • The Mediterranean food truck Zaytuna announced it has opened a second food truck. Find it Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 8 p.m. 12701 S. 28th Ave., Capehart Road, Bellevue, Neb.
  • Rally Coffee Co. will open a second location this fall/winter at 17878 Oakland Drive, Suite 111, Gretna, Neb. Its other location is at 749 N. 14th St.
  • Coneflower Creamery is serving up a Harry Potter-esque seasonal treat, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Beer Float. Ingredients are cream sodawith a scoop each of brown butter and salted caramel ice creams and topped with both house made whipped cream and salted caramel sauce. Locations are 3921 Farnam St. and 1241 Millwork Ave.
  • CLOSINGS: Deviled Egg Co. announced it was closing its Omaha location. The final day will be Dec. 1, 2024. Until then, they will offer to-go only, including egg salad in a jar. Varsity Sport Cafe & Roman Pizza announced it was closing its Millard location effective Oct. 20. The other locations at 9735 Q St. and 3504 Samson Way remain open.

  • Metz Beer 160th Anniversary and Czech Dinner is Nov. 1 from 5 to 11 p.m. at Infusion Brewing Co., 6271 S. 118th St. The night includes a ceremonial keg tapping of the Metz Beer Barrel at 5:45; a traditional Czech dinner of Roast Pork, Bread Dumplings, Sweet and Sour Cabbage and Rye bread catered by our friends at Eddies Catering; homemade kolaches from Sixth Street Kolaches; and live music by the Barry Boyce Band. Meals are $20 with your first beer/soft drink included.
  • National German-American Friendship Day and the Annual Grape Harvest Dance will be celebrated on Nov. 2 at the German-American Society, 3717 S. 120th St. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner starts at 6:15. Choice of duck or pork loin. Reservations by Oct. 25. Cost for the meal is $38 for members, $42 for guests, and $12 for kids (age 12 and younger). Dancing only is $12 for members and $15 for guests.
  • The Eastern Nebraska Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse's Chili Cook Off is Nov. 3 from noon to 4 p.m. at Bogies West, 14334 U St. $10 for unlimited tasting.
  • Reuben Fest is Nov. 4-9 at Crescent Moon Ale House, 3578 Farnam St. Menu items will include the classic Reuben sandwich and Reuben egg rolls; more will be announced. Limited number of daily specials will be available. Release times will be at open at 11 a.m. on Mondays through Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday, and 6 p.m. for dinner service.
  • The Princesses of Sat-ra Temple No. 59, Daughters of the Nile are hosting Princess & Pirate Pancake Breakfast on Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at Tangier Shrine Center, lower level of the building. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, milk, orange juice, coffee and water. There will be face painting, stickers, temporary tattoos and treasure chest. Costumes are encouraged. There will also be a free-will bake sale table. Donation of $10 per adult and $5 for kids age 10 & under.
  • The Blackstone District's Chili Cook Off is Nov. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. at Kamp, 3618 Farnam St. Sample chili from various competitors and vote for your favorite. Cost is $5.
  • Paired Whiskey Tasting is Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. at Burdock + Bitters at Omaha Marriott Downtown, 222 N. 10th St. There will be seven courses of small plates paired with Basil Hayden Dark Rye, Old Grandad, Jim Beam 7 Year plus two bonus cocktails. Cost is $115 and includes parking. Must be 21+.
