Dr. Petrin and Angie will provide invaluable insights into the organization’s latest initiatives, share updates on advocacy work, and discuss the critical role healthcare professionals play in shaping the future of healthcare policy. Whether you’ve been part of our community for years or are just joining us, this is your chance to engage directly with leadership and fellow advocates. Open Q&A to follow.

From the eGREEDgious Team
At Ambulatory Surgery Centers, some physicians recognize they have less oversight than they would in a hospital system and use this opportunity to steal. One long con comes from a New York ophthalmologist, sentenced to 96 months in prison for his overbilling. The grand sum of his greed came to over $3.6 MILLION collected by “upcoding,” where one exaggerates the type of procedure performed, or by billing for a procedure not performed at all. This is no isolated incident, and these acts of individual greed contribute to the overall exorbitant healthcare spending in the US.
Is this fair or is this greed?
Join the fight against greed in health care! Our next meeting is on Wednesday, October 23 at 7:00 pm ET.
