October has gotten me thinking about secrets--not in a scary way because I'm a big wimp when it comes to that stuff*--but how it relates to our ideas and creativity. We have these thoughts and images in our dreams and imaginations, in our hearts and minds, and they remain a mystery--even to us sometimes--until we decide to express them and bring them into reality. And when we do, it helps us discover new paths we haven't yet walked with new mysteries to solve and new secrets to uncover.

 

I was writing the intro to this month's Creative Spark Newsletter (an annual subscription of creative prompts for our sketchbook practice)** when these thoughts came to mind and I wanted to share it with you here along with the 3 secret mood boards that you can use! The idea is to pick a board without knowing what's on it and use that to spark creativity and generate ideas.

 

Whether you're into visual arts, the written word, collages, music, food and cooking, hosting parties, home decor, digital art, the spoken word, creating content online, a mix of all the above or something else entirely, I hope these boards can help bring some inspiration this month!
