Chilly autumn mornings, cough teas, and exclusive discounts |

Hi again, First name / friend! As the cool breeze of autumn settles in, it's getting quite chilly here in East Tennessee. Not only have we started our first fire of the season in the wood stove, but I've been drinking copious amounts of tea to keep the chill at bay. If you ask me, there’s nothing quite as soothing as wrapping your hands around a warm mug of tea on a chilly autumn morning. It just creates a vibe, you know. With that said, the changing season also means cold and flu season is on its way, which tends to bring along dry coughs and irritated throats. And because we know what's coming our way, this is the perfect time of year to make a throat-soothing tea blend in advance, so we can brew a pot when we need it most. Are you with me?
If so, I'm sharing the recipe I'll be stocking up on this season — Cough-B-Gone Tea — a gentle and nourishing brew that supports respiratory health and soothes discomfort. It’s a must-have for your herbal tea collection this fall! |

Cough-B-Gone Tea
Mullein has long been used to soothe coughs and other respiratory issues because of its anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, and expectorant properties. The addition of antispasmodic chamomile, demulcent marshmallow, and honey makes this tea very helpful for soothing irritated throats and dry coughs. Yield: one 12 fl oz serving. Ingredients
1 tbsp chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) flower 1 tsp marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) root, leaf, or flower 1 tsp plantain (Plantago spp.) leaf 1 tsp mullein (Verbascum thapsus) leaf 1 tsp licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) root 12 fl oz (360 mL) water Honey (or sweetener of choice) to taste
Directions - Place herbs in a heat-safe container.
- Pour freshly boiled hot water over the herbs, cover, and steep for 5-7 minutes.
- Strain the infusion through a tea strainer lined with an unbleached coffee filter to ensure the removal of tiny mullein leaf hairs, which can cause irritation, and compost or discard plant material.
- Sweeten with honey, if desired.
- Serve and enjoy up to 3 servings per day!
