Today at Spring Bay Mill most of the rainwater falling on the buildings is collected and stored for reuse on site. While rainwater falling on the ground passes through a series of absorption landforms, swales and dams that control runoff and returns it back into the site’s gardens and bushland to help preserve the oceans. From this process we have enabled significant coastal rehabilitation - from toxic green to crystal clean.

In other good news, we recently had the privilege of hosting the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra with a full-house audience in our acoustically superb Tin Shed space. We were mesmerised by their rendition of Mozart’s tale of The Magic Flute & the lost arrangement.

We were also honoured to host The Sound Country Artist Climate Leadership Retreat, where passionate musicians came together to explore how their voices can inspire change in the face of our rapidly excelling climate emergency. By deepening their knowledge and building networks, these musicians and songwriters are helping to reshape the narrative around environmental action. Their commitment to creating a safer, greener future through the power of music made this retreat a truly inspiring experience for all of us at Spring Bay Mill.
