Grateful
By the time you read this, I will be a world away. 
 
I am so grateful to be experiencing a wild adventure on the continent of Africa! We're spending time in Cape Town, South Africa and going on safari in Botswana. More on that later! Though if you want to see things in real time, I'll post in my instagram stories!
 
I realize there are a lot of things swirling in the world right now that are stressful. I know I've been feeling it. Perhaps you have, too. 
 
When things feel out of our control, it seems like a good reminder to pause and find gratitude where we can. Even in the tiniest way. At least that's what I try to do. 
 
On that note, I hope that this little newsletter brings a little bit of joy to your day. And, always know that I'm grateful to have you here.

This Month in the Garden

Planting season
 
It's tulip time!! 
 
This is the month that the bulbs get planted. In the photos below, you can get an idea of how the bulbs look as they are being planted.
 
Per usual, the front and side of the house will be planted with Menton bulbs. However, we are changing things up in the back garden with a new tulip, ā€œFancy Frillsā€. It was once called ā€œDallas Fancy Frillsā€, which really sealed the deal for me! 
 
ā€œFancy Frillsā€ is an award-winning 1970s fringe beauty in rose-pink with an ivory-white base, ivory-white flames and rose-white crystalline fringe. They will be planted alongside the tall, white Catherina tulips.
 
I'm excited to see how things look in April!

Coming to NYC
Watson Kennedy
Pop Up at J. McLaughlin on Lexington Ave
 
Last November, I was in Seattle to celebrate a milestone birthday and 25th shop anniversary for my dear friend, Ted Kennedy Watson. 
 
This November, he'll be coming to the East Coast, visiting NYC for a very special pop up experience. Ted is bringing a mini version of his fabulous home and gift shop, Watson Kennedy,  to J.McLaughlin the weekend after Thanksgiving for 2 days only (Friday & Saturday). 
 
If you have ever wished you could meet Ted or shop his wares, this is your chance!! He'll also be decorating the shop window on Lexington. 
 
So, plan to do some city shopping and enjoy the holiday decor and swing by to say hello to Ted!
