Hi First name / friend,

I was chatting with my coaching group this week about marketing, and none of us were surprised to admit that it’s not exactly at the top of our "fun" lists. But it doesn’t have to be something you dread! Here's what's helping me actually enjoy marketing lately:

First and foremost, if you have a cohesive Etsy shop, you don’t necessarily need to be active on social media to grow your business. I hit six figures in sales before I got intentional with marketing outside of Facebook groups—but that’s not the path I’d recommend.

For long-term growth, my advice is to start with one space where you enjoy sharing your process, and commit to consistently showing up. Is that Instagram? Youtube? Facebook? Email? It doesn't have to be all of the above!

When I approach marketing with a mindset of “How can I truly help my audience?” or “What have I learned that I'm excited to share with my designer friends” marketing feels a lot more meaningful and a lot less sales-y. You might even be surprised at which platform ends up feeling right for you.

So, I’m curious—where do you enjoy sharing your work?

This will be a repeat for those of you who saw it on Facebook yesterday, but I have a scoring + photography tip for you:

Whenever I list a product with scoring, I make sure to slow down the speed of my laser to create a deeper, darker score line on whatever I'm taking a photo of. And sometimes I even will engrave it instead!

A lot of us like bright, natural light photos, but that can make score lines appear more faint than they are in real life. Enhancing the score line like I did above makes for a better photo and better sales :)

Until next time, happy lasering!
