GENERAL NEWS
REGIONAL TRIAL
Qld Housing Finance Loan
The Qld Government is helping more people living in country areas into homeownership, so they can stay close to their families, jobs and community connections.
DROUGHT & CLIMATE ADAPTION Farm Management Planning Research 
Phillips Group is seeking 70 primary producers from across Queensland to participate in a 90-minute interview conducted at a location convenient for the participants.
We want to hear from primary producers who have and have not created farm management plans. 
The 70 primary producers chosen to participate in an interview will receive $200 for their time. If Phillips Group receives more than 70 nominations, an online survey will be released to capture the additional feedback. 

PROJECT UPDATES

GREEN STREET STAFF HOUSING 
Council has received 3 of the 6 new staff houses located on Green Street with the remaining 3 scheduled to arrive by November 16th, 2024. Civil works are expected to be completed by the end of March 2025, with the houses anticipated to be ready by mid April 2025. 
GENERAL MEETING UPDATES

 
SEPTEMBER
  • Council resolved to receive the unconfirmed minutes of the Audit Committee Meeting held 13th September 2024, and adopt the recommendations made therein.
  • Council resolved to accept the tender from Hastings Deering for supply of one New Multi Tyre Roller and the trade of one multi tyre roller plant number 4138.
  • Council resolved to amend the December 2024 General Meeting date from the 11th December 2024 to the 18th December 2024 in accordance with S.254B of the Local Government Regulation 2012.
  • Council resolved to provide a Letter of Support for the proposed Commonwealth Savings Postal Bank to the appropriate parties.
OCTOBER
  • Council resolved to accept the proposed Firth Street upgrade project and drainage works around the Firth Street in Mount Surprise.
  • Council resolved to That Council resolve to endorse the draft 2024-2029 Etheridge Shire Council Corporate Plan subject to public comment for 30 days, with the final document to be presented to the December 2024 General Meeting.
  • Council resolved to accept the request and approve the installation of signs of “No through Road“ and “Local traffic only“ at intersection of Daintree Street and Einasleigh Forsayth Road.
  • Council resolved to  receive the unconfirmed minutes of the Biosecurity Advisory Committee meeting held 27th September 2024 and adopt the recommendations provided by the Biosecurity Advisory Committee at the meeting held 27th September 2024

COUNCIL REMINDERS

QUEENSLANDER CREEK CROSSING
Road Works
Council wishes to advise the public of the construction of box culverts at the Queenslander Creek Crossing. Between 22nd August to 12th December 2024.  
FORSAYTH TO EINASLEIGH ROAD
Public Notice
Council wishes to advise that roadworks are expected to commence on the Forsayth to Einasleigh Road. Works will involve drainage works and bitumen sealing. Please obey all road signage and exercise caution as there will be machinery and construction vehicles working in this area. 
PUBLIC NOTICE
Copperfield (Kidston) Dam 
Council wishes to advise that the Copperfield (Kidston) Dam will be closed from 2nd October to mid November 2024, due to planned maintenance works.
