Hi, friends . . . In like a lamb, out like a lion. I know that's the saying for the month of March, but it seems appropriate for this October. The winds of change are blowing in and the temps are dropping. The last of the leaves dance in the wind and are becoming a natural mulch. Last fall I decided (and managed to convince Neil) to use those leaves on all of my garden beds, and I plan to do it again. No more raking, no more bagging or burning! If you'd like to learn more about the benefits of leaving the leaves, click here. It's prime time to plant bulbs, and I have a new project that I'm contemplating - a meadow-like bulb lawn. I was inspired by this podcast and am stocking up on low-growing bulbs that I can plant in the lawn. Last month I started a new blog series about gardening called 'From the Green House’. I just finished writing the next one, so grab a warm drink to enjoy while you read it. The link is below. Next week we will begin to dress the old church in her holiday garb, decking the halls, and bringing out all the gifting goods. You can have a sneak peek on Thursday, November 7 at our Ladies' Night Out. We are partnering with Burlington Garden Center that night, and if you shop both stores that evening, you will be entered to win a $25 gift card to both. Stop in during our next few open days and save 50% on fall decor. Have a lovely day. See you soon! |

FROM THE GREEN HOUSE I guess I like purple . . . Designing a garden is such a personal thing. It reflects your taste, your style, and your personality. That's why I enjoy walking through someone else's garden. Not only can I gain inspiration from someone else's ideas, but it tells me something about the gardener. Well, when you see my garden on the east side of my house, you will know that I like purple. . . |
