This time of year can sometimes feel very busy and hectic--schedules are filled with get togethers and to dos in preparation for holidays and the end of the year. It can all pass by in such a blur (like most of the year has!) so I really wanted us to embrace the idea of slowing down and being present. Art is such a good space to get lost in and to be in the moment as we focus on each stroke, line, and image we are trying to create. I hope this prompt helps you set the pace for the month. (I chose the photo above because I feel like this cat knows how to take it slow--he or she will slowly wake from their slumber when they are ready :)) |

I'm doing something a little different for this month's art movement. Instead of picking one, I'm choosing different paintings that reflect our prompt of slowing down--scenes of serenity--and sharing those along with the art movement they are from. Find inspiration in these scenes and strokes or the movement they belong to. |
