Such exciting developments!
I’m delighted to share with you the story of a dream come true…
My first ever product line has officially launched with Unika Vaev!
This endeavor has been well over a year in the making, and is my first ever Folded Poetry licensing deal. The product is symbolic of my brand in so many ways.

Years ago when I began creating sculptural paper artwork I noted that the shapes had such a great variety of directional surfaces, and thought - "Ya know, this would perform very well acoustically. Noise waves would readily die when put in contact with these designs, right?”
Recalling my time working as an architectural designer, I felt there were limited options for aesthetically impactful acoustic noise-reducing products.
A dream was born…

My first ever series of “study models" which would become Folded Poetry is shown above.
And recently, that dream of creating acoustic artwork – both functional and beautiful – came true!
As many of you know, I began creating sculptural art as a way to help heal myself from a car crash and traumatic brain injury which blew up my life (and career in architecture) in 2018. The designs in this product collection represent visual disorientation caused by my TBI. My interest in acoustic noise-deadening design is similarly based in my experience being overwhelmed by noise / volume during my recovery. Created using PET acoustic felt, this collection is a beautiful marriage of the two concepts and is truly a pairing of art and function.
The product line is composed of three different shapes - Hexagons (Hexad), Diamonds (Diad), and Triangles (Triad) available in both symmetrical and asymmetrical forms.
Below are my descriptions of each product:

“Folded Poetry’s Triad (above) includes three directionally scattered surfaces which both disperse and absorb sound waves. The smallest of the three Folded Poetry collection products, Triad can be tiled together densely in an unlimited number of arrangements to provide maximum acoustic enhancement.”

"The Diad form (above) is the first-ever Folded Poetry design Eliza created during the beginning of the pandemic as she explored utilizing geometric paper sculpture as a means to both capture and process her altered life experience post traumatic brain injury. Diad is quite literally the symbol of her creative brand, Folded Poetry, and lends itself wonderfully to acoustic enhancement through the combination of four directionally scattered surfaces and Unika Vaev’s PET noise-deadening felt material.

“Hexad (above) provides maximum wall coverage and utilizes six distinct surfaces and surrounding facets to both scatter and absorb noise waves. When tiled together, undulating irregular geometries of Folded Poetry emerge, creating perplexing and highly-customizable compositions of acoustic artwork.”

"The Folded Poetry collection offers the creative opportunity to play with shapes and design an acoustic art installation entirely customized for your space."
I'm ECSTATIC that this dream of mine is now a reality!

The sculptural shapes are available either in solid color core, or with printed color faces (and white seams).

You might be wondering how I came by this opportunity. The truth is that I landed it through this email newsletter! I attended a networking event in 2022, and was *that person* collecting (demanding?) folks’ email addresses. Fast forward six months and someone I had connected with reached out in response to one of my acoustic prototypes I shared in my newsletter to make an industry connection for me – massive shout out to Danielle Milesky - THANK YOU so much again!
Special thanks to Alan Morgenstern (the industry conneciton) for believing in my ideas and connecting me directly with Unika Vaev leadership!
I'm glowing with gratitude for all of the wonderful folks who've believed in, invested in, and shown up for me throughout this incredibly exciting time. You know who you are, THANK YOU.

In other news, I’ve completed prototyping this year’s Holiday ornament and have received back the most stunning photography from Matt Ramey photo!

My intention is to offer a unique architectural ornament every year! I received such great feedback from folks on the iridescent acrylic material last year, so I've decided to continue offering a new ornament in that material every year. This gives you the opportunity to build a collection of unique sculptural gems (which actually make great window ornaments year-round!)

These ornaments make fantastic gifts for loved ones, employees, clients - You name it! Pre-order is now available for quantities of 10 or more!
Small-batch and Individual ornament sales begin in a little under a month on Small-Business Saturday - the day after Black Friday (November 30th!) I'll remind you, don't worry.
It would mean the world to me if you would share this email with any businesses or individuals who may be interested these little beauties.
Farewell to spooky season, and hello Holidays! (My favorite time of the year!)
