As we step into November, we enter a season often focused on gratitude and reflection. It’s a perfect time to consider what it truly means to live in remembrance. For many of us, when life is lifing, it’s easy to become distracted and pulled away from alignment with God. Yet, God calls us to remember Him—not just in November, but every day.
Remembering Who He Is
God is my Father. He is my everything. My earthly father has been gone for over 12 years, and I take great comfort in knowing I have an eternal Father who watches over me, loves me deeply, and is always present.
Who is God to you? What qualities of His character bring you peace or comfort?
Remembering What He Has Done
This is the time of year that I take time to revisit my journal entries to remind myself of the incredible ways God has moved in my life. Sometimes, I go back several years; other times, just to the beginning of the year. I make note of the miracles, answered prayers, and praise reports, and remembering what He has done fills me with strength. Do you know what I usually find? His goodness surpasses all the challenges I faced and dealt with!
How has God been faithful to you this year? What moments of His presence can you look back on with gratitude?
Remembering What He Has Promised
God’s promises are an anchor for our souls, giving us hope and direction. He promises to me keep me grounded no matter the challenges I face. He has promised to be my security and my safe place.
What promises of God are you holding onto right now? How do His promises guide or encourage you?
This month, I invite you to start a “Remembrance Journal.” Each day, write down something about God’s character, an answered prayer, or a promise that speaks to you. Let it serve as a daily reminder, grounding your heart in His love and truth.
Happy Remembering! 🤗
