Hello friends,

When I did my weekly review last week, I added a new section that brought a smile to my face and a jolt of excitement. The section title was: Looking forward to. Here’s what I wrote:
  • Taking an autumn walk at King Hussein Business Park and enjoying the beautiful leaves (Done, see picture).
  • Finishing midterm exams for the kids. What a relief!
  • Attending a 2-day training course with the sales team.
  • Continuing the 5 @ 5 challenge by waking up at 5 am to journal and make progress on meaningful goals, like decluttering. (Yes, I’m decluttering in the morning now—that’s how much I love this goal).
  • Interacting with and motivating the 5 @ 5 group.
What experiences are you looking forward to?

Writing this list felt great, and I encourage you to do the same.

Go ahead, give it a try!

Did you do it? If so, let’s add more! Here’s my expanded list:
  • The last meeting for the All Year Goals group at the end of the month.
  • Putting up the Christmas tree.
  • Baby Basil’s first Christmas.
  • Welcoming my baby niece, who’s due at the end of this month.
  • Traveling with my family next year.
  • Enjoying my clutter-free desks and bedroom (my current decluttering projects).
A Thought on Anticipation

Anticipation has been proven to be a key ingredient to happiness; that’s why I prefer telling my kids, rather than surprising them, about upcoming happy events like the date their cousins arrive to Jordan or a family spring trip so they would enjoy looking forward to the event.

Could You Do Me a Favor?

After you make your “looking forward to” list, keep it on your desk and check it often. I’ve been doing this with my list and shared it with my accountability partner, and now with you, to keep it on top of mind.

Make your list and tell me how you feel afterward. I am looking forward to hearing from you 🤩.

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 3 sparks that I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. ️ 🥳️️ New podcast alert! My friend Nour AlMaaitah has finally achieved one of her most important goals for the year: Launching her podcast Mumpreneur ماما ريادية, and the first episode dropped 2 days ago 👏. I am counting on you to show her our support and encouragement by following the show on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. You could also follow her podcast Instagram page. I loved the time management reframe that Nour shared in the first episode and it left me wanting MORE, so I am looking forward to her weekly episodes.

2. 🎙️ You might remember that a while ago, I told you about the book "Influence is Your Super Power". It was one of the most fun and practical books I read this year. It speaks about charisma, the art of asking and negotiating, and making a meaningful impact on other people. This interview with the author Zoe Chance in the Good Life Project podcast summarizes the book well. I loved Jonathan's questions to Zoe and highly recommend you would listen. She mentions a technique called Shine that can be used in a group setting of around 20 people or more, where you give your full attention to one of the attendees until the attendee feels that connection. When they do, it impacts the whole room. I also want to remind you that you can buy and read any Kindle book, even if you don’t have a Kindle, using the Kindle desktop or mobile apps.

3. 💬 Quote of the week:
“Family traditions mark time in a happy way and give a sense both of anticipation and continuity. Research shows that traditions, routines, and rituals boost physical and emotional health."

- Gretchen Rubin, Happier at Home
