Market Update  |  November 2024
These past few months—and especially this past week—have brought a lot of change, creating a sense of anticipation for what’s next. While new dynamics often raise questions about the future, I’m here as your real estate resource to help guide you confidently through any residential shifts ahead.

As you consider your options, whether that means a new move, exploring the market, or simply making the most of your current space, I’m ready to support you every step of the way. Real estate may ebb and flow, but its long-term value and resilience make it a secure anchor in times of change. In this month’s newsletter, I’ve included housing stats and ways to enjoy the season locally—both to support our community and bring some joy to your days.

We’re in this together, and as you gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, I wish you a holiday filled with warmth, joy, and gratitude. Our communities, homes, and connections remain our strongest foundations, and I’ll be here to help you with your real estate needs, as well as those of your family and friends.  Your referrals are truly appreciated. Thank you for thinking of me!

May your days be filled with gratitude, joy, and peace.

Warm regards,
Meg Barrett

The James Beard Public Market is The Win
That Portland Needed
What Paul Bocuse and Auguste Escoffier are to France, Artusi Pellegrino is to Italy, Patricia Quintana is to Mexico, and Gastón Acurio is to Peru, James Beard is to the United States: the central figure in shaping how we understand and enjoy food and cuisine. And like many of you, James Beard grew up in Portland, often citing Oregon and France as his two greatest inspirations in a career that literally changed the way Americans think about food…

My work in real estate is about helping people optimize their lives. Sometimes this takes more than knowing the market. When clients are downsizing, my experience with the emotional and logistical aspects of the transition makes for a more seamless move.

When a house holds the memories of a lifetime, and clients feel connected to a neighborhood and a community but need a fresh start in a new place, the transition can be emotional and challenging. I love to be present with my people. It brings me joy to honor the history and life of a client’s home, let the home shine, and support my client in all aspects of the move.
