When it comes to our family's Thanksgiving meal,
my daughter is a much better chef and hostess.

However, I have a few favorite dishes I like to make.

Because, let's face it:  Thanksgiving isn't about the turkey. It's about the side dishes.

And pie.
…Oh, and family and friends.

Here are the recipes I use, below.

If you've got a recipe for a side dish that makes you proud, or a pie, share it with me

Between now and Thanksgiving, I'll also post your recipes on my Facebook page.

The first pie, above left, is the recipe I use for pumpkin. You'll find it on the Sally's Baking Recipes.

For a fabulous fruity pie on the top right, Sally's Baking Recipes also has my go-to recipe for a cranberry-apple crumble. When you taste it, you'll know why!

Below, left, is the best recipe I've found for Dark Chocolate Pecan Pie. It's also from Sally's Baking Recipes.

As for my favorite side dish recipe, the one you see on the bottom right, is the one I use for sweet potato soufflé.

Caveat: like Donna Stone Craig, I add a liqueur to all of the above. But you'll have to read the book to find out which dish gets what little intoxicating kick!
