Try this:
During meetings, notice when people get in the habit of polite, superficial agreement, or worse - sitting silent.
Be proactive and invite for all points of view to be shared. Ask people specifically:
- How does this land with you?
- What are our blindspots that you see?
- I want to hear your thoughts on this - can you share them now or at another time? (This works well for the introverts who may need more processing time to formulate their responses).
Remember: Keep the work at the center. The question should be
✔️ “What problem are we solving?” or
✔️ “What needs to be true to get to clarity on this decision.”
Bonus points: With productive conflict conversations, your team will natually develop deeper, more trusting relationships with each other.
