CREATE A HOME INVENTORY

Creating a Home Inventory to document and insure your personal property will provide peace of mind and save you hours of tedious, hand-wringing work in the event of a loss.

There are a host of apps that promise to streamline the process or simply attach receipts and images to a spreadsheet you keep up to date.

I've included a link below to Progressive's succinct explanation on understanding  and creating a home inventory.

Keep in mind certain personal property - like fine art, jewelry, rare books, musical instruments, electronics, firearms or other collectibles - may require an insurance rider to be covered or adequately insured.

Always connect with your insurance agent to confirm your coverage.

In the event
I hurriedly drafted a text in the early hours of the Woolsey Fire when my friend - a midwife with a sizable family - desperately pinged “what do I pack?!”

So many of you already bear harrowing and personal Thomas Fire experiences and likely have your own short list.

And many among you dear readers have already received this text from me as new fires have posed new threats.

I am including it here for your review and consideration as you revisit your  emergency preparedness plan.

Make sure your plan includes a space in the cloud to host your most treasured images and scanned ephemera.
I personally use PhotoShelter and Vimeo.

ON A LIGHTER NOTE!

Cheers to dreaming together and
building together in 2025!

Thank you for
sharing the journey.
