Hi {{ subscriber.firstName | default('Friends') }},

How is it almost Thanksgiving? The weeks and months keep flying, but I wanted to pop in with a quick hello and to wish everyone a wonderful holiday. This year, I'm grateful for a lot. Including you. Thanks for being here and sharing your stories and lives with me. Many of you I've come to know and others have merely supported me in beautiful ways. Thank you.

As I sit here writing book nine, the horrible first draft, you, my readers, carry me through. My good friend and fellow author Jackie Friedland shared this quote from Shannon Hale and I love it:  “When I'm writing the first draft, I'm constantly reminding myself that I'm simply shoveling sand into a box so that later I can build castles." That about sums it up.

I recently chatted with a pal about my writing, and at one point, she said, “You know you can take a break.” She's not the first person to say this to me. She won't be the last. At any given time, I'm either writing a book, editing a book, or promoting a book. Then there's countless events, social media engagement, and my dedication to giving back to the author/writing community. It's not always fun, and it's not always as glamorous as it appears online, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I love what I do, warts and all.

Have you heard about the Artists Against Antisemitism auction? All proceeds go directly to Project Shema to combat antisemitism. With nearly 400 unique items, the auction is packed with incredible moments— dining with Henry Winkler, Zoom chats with Mayim Bialik, Rebecca De Mornay, and Mark Feuerstein, a private cooking class with Adeena Sussman and more. They've got original art, jewelry, memorabilia from star athletes, and tickets to talk shows, Broadway, concerts and sporting events!

Add to that, it's a book lover’s paradise! Own signed books and score private book club visits from dozens of New York Times bestselling authors, get exclusive access to upcoming releases, and so much more. Aspiring writers can snag private sessions with literary agents, editors, and award-winning scriptwriters. THE AUCTION CLOSES IN A FEW HOURS (November 20, 6;00 PM) SO CHECK IT OUT!

Some dates to mark your calendars for some amazing author (me!) giveaways:

South Florida friends, I'll be at the Miami Book Fair this weekend, or you can catch me below….

If you haven't pre-ordered my latest novel, WE ARE MADE OF STARS, now's the time!  Bestselling author Barbara Davis says, "I literally couldn’t put this book down. Secrets, scandals, and emotional scars abound in this wonderfully layered novel about breaking down barriers and learning to forgive. We Are Made of Stars will keep you reading late into the night—and I promise you won’t even mind the next morning!”

Which brings us to this month's giveaway. I love all of Barbara's books and one lucky winner will receive a free copy of both THE ECHO OF OLD BOOKS and THE KEEPER OF HAPPY ENDINGS. I had a chance to read an advance copy of EVERY PRECIOUS AND FRAGILE THING, and readers are in for a real treat. Pre-order now! My blurb: “Every Precious and Fragile Thing will grab readers’ hearts and squeeze. Davis delivers a skillfully woven tale of broken dreams, second chances, and unlikely allies. With a shocking twist you won’t see coming, Davis packs a punch and a heaping scoop of forgiveness. Powerful and evocative, this one you feel deep in the heart."

And last but not least, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Marcus JCC in Atlanta where the lovely A Cappella Books was on hand selling books. To show my gratitude for the booksellers who stock their shelves with our stories, THREE lucky winners will receive a copy of THE BOOK OF THEIR CHOICE from these three titles which I'll be purchasing from A Cappella: The Wedding People by Alison Espach (my favorite book of 2024), Maybe Once Maybe Twice by Alison Greenberg (because Atlanta), and The Little Liar by Mitch Albom (because it's Mitch!).

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your holiday is spent in gratitude with the people you love.

Rochelle
